Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd, trading as Foxconn Technology Group, better known as Foxconn is a
multinational electronics contract manufacturer headquartered in Tucheng, New Taipei, Taiwan. Today, it is
the world’s largest electronics contract manufacturer and the fourth largest technology company by revenue.

Recently, rumours were spread among company employees that many employees were going to be given
raises. This excited the employees and raised their expectations for the future. A few weeks later, Foxconn
replaced 60,000 workers in a factory of 80,000 workers with robots. This enraged the workers who were
fired, as well as many workers who still worked for Foxconn. Workers from Foxconn’s major factories in
China and Taiwan have come out on strike and are currently refusing to work.

Foxconn has come under fire in the media for their actions and their share prices have taken a hit due to the
reports in the media and the strikes organised in their factories.

As the PR agent of Foxconn, you are tasked with justifying the actions of Foxconn to the media in an
official press conference.
