There is a European long-distance trail for those hiking on foot (E1) as well as for those cycling (R1). They lead
through Europe from north to south (E1) and from west to east (R1). They cross over in the Teutoburg forest
near Detmold. Now, there is also an international photo contest for amateurs and professional photographers.
The contest was initiated by WALK, the Competence Center for Hiking in Detmold. It is backed by the German
Hiking Association (DWV) and by the European Ramblers’ Association (EWV).

Prizes:
A jury of professional experts will pick the winner, taking artistic and aesthetic aspects into consideration.

Both cash and gifts of a total value of approximately 30,000 € will be given out amongst the winners of each
individual category, as well as the overall winner. The winning works, along with 40 nominated works, will be
presented to the public in an exhibition following the awards ceremony in August 2018. A winners’ publication
will also be compiled, in which a selection of works by the winner and nominees will be published. Further
publications will occur through the press, as well as through online mediums like Facebook, Instagram and on
the website.

The ZEISS Photography Award is now in its third year – and is calling on ambitious photographers from across
the globe to present their work around the theme “Seeing Beyond – Untold Stories” to the international jury of
experts. The focus of the photo series should be on stories that have not yet been told (or have not yet been told
to the end). The theme “Untold Stories” can and should be understood in the broadest sense – the works can
examine the familiar from a new perspective or cover topics that have not received much attention up until now.
The goal is for photographers to push the creative boundaries and surpass themselves photographically.

Photographers are asked to submit a series of 5 - 10 images, including a description of the images, online.

The 2018 brief

"Seeing Beyond - Untold Stories" requires photographers to present a strong series of 5-10 images that look
beyond the ordinary and every day. “Untold Stories” is intended to be understood in its broadest sense - the
work could explore a familiar theme told from a different perspective or it could address an issue that has
previously had little attention. All forms of photography are welcome and judges are specifically looking for
series of works that have a strong narrative. The "Untold Story" that the photographer presents must be visually
clear in the submitted images.

Prizes:
The winner and the shortlist with up to ten photographers will be announced on April 3, 2018. The winners will
receive attractive prizes, including ZEISS lenses of their choice with a total value of 12,000 euros as well as
3,000 euros to cover travel costs for a photo project. The awards ceremony will be held in London on April 19,
2018, as part of the Sony World Photography Awards.

The winning photos and the selected photos from the shortlist will simultaneously be presented at the Sony
World Photography Awards exhibition at the Somerset House in London, with the winner participating in the
exhibition opening. In addition, ZEISS will invite the winner to the company’s headquarters in Germany. Here
they will gain insight into the world of ZEISS and can familiarize themselves with ZEISS lenses. In addition,
they will also have the opportunity to personally work with ZEISS and the World Photography Organisation.

The Nikon International Small World Competition first began in 1975 as a means to recognize and applaud the
efforts of those involved with photography through the light microscope. Since then, Small World has become a
leading showcase for photomicrographers from the widest array of scientific disciplines.

A photomicrograph is a technical document that can be of great significance to science or industry. But a good
photomicrograph is also an image whose structure, color, composition, and content is an object of beauty, open
to several levels of comprehension and appreciation.

The Nikon Small World Competition is open to anyone with an interest in photography through the microscope.
Truly international in scope, entries have been received from the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, Latin
America, Asia, and Africa. Winners have included both professionals and hobbyists.

The subject matter is unrestricted and any type of light microscopy technique is acceptable, including phase

The 8th biennial edition of BredaPhoto International Photo Festival invites professional photographers from all
over the world to share their vision on the 2018 theme TO INFINITY AND BEYOND. We invite you to share
your (audio)visual interpretation of the possibilities and impact of the ongoing progress in technology and
science. Will it bring nothing but progress? Or are we at risk of opening a Pandora’s box full of unwelcome
surprises?

Submissions for the BredaPhoto festival 2018 can be entered from July 1st 2017 until February 1st 2018. The
selection of works and proposals will be done by our three festival curators Reinout van den Bergh, Jan
Schaerlackens and Geert van Eyck. The submissions that, judged by them, best complement the program by
giving an original elaboration of this edition’s theme, will be displayed during the BredaPhoto International

Prizes:
The CAP Prize consists of global exposure at major international photography exhibitions and is awarded during
the Image Afrique Festival in Basel, Switzerland. The CAP Prize winners exhibition was previously on show at
LagosPhoto Festival in Nigeria, at FIFCV Festival Internacional de Fotografia de Cabo Verde or Eyes On –
European Month of Photography in Vienna just to name a few. The five CAP Prize winners are invited to the
main exhibition at the Image Afrique Festival and will spend one week in Basel during Art Basel, all costs
covered. A catalog documenting the five winners works will be published in time for the award ceremony.

Each of the five awardees have the chance to be featured by many of our media partners.

In a nutshell: CAP Prize raises the winners' international exposure and builds a high level network for future
projects.

This year is a big anniversary for our photo competition: It is the 25th year that EuroNatur has organised this
international nature photo competition in conjunction with the magazine "natur", the NaturVision Filmfestival
and Gelsenwasser AG.

A specialist jury will award prizes to the most striking images. The winning photos will be published in the
large-format EuroNatur wall calendar and will be awarded with money prizes. Besides that they will be
published in the EuroNatur magazine, in the magazine "natur" as well as on the websites of the organisers. The
best photographs can be also seen at the exhibition "The Fascination of Nature" at the Mauth Information Centre
in the Bayrischer Wald National Park.

1st Prize: 1,500 EUR
2nd Prize: 1,000 EUR
3rd Prize: 750 EUR
4th Prize: 500 EUR
5th Prize: 250 EUR

The 6th – 12th prizes and the Jury Prize are a voucher to the value of 25 EUR to be redeemed against EuroNatur
Service GmbH’s range of products. Each winner will also receive a copy of EuroNatur’s 2019 Europe’s Natural
Treasures wall calendar. Prizes cannot be converted into cash. The organisers’ decision is final.

highlights of 2017 would be so exciting? Needless to state, it has been a year of many ups and downs and great delights. If
you could sum up your 2017 in a photo, what would it look like? Let us know by entering our Summing up 2017 Photo

All entries submitted to the contest will also feature in our market for a chance to be sold to a wide array of buyers
