OM PROJECT REPORT

Brief history of the outlet.

Mr. Pankaj Singh, the owner of the outlet was previously working as a cook in a small
restaurant in Delhi. Owing to inconsiderable working hours and hectic working
environment, Mr. Pankaj Singh was prompted to start his own business outlet in Delhi. He
had few savings and borrowed money from his family to establish his own outlet at
Adhchini, twelve years ago.

Why he chose Adhchini as a location for his outlet?

 Ease of access - Since Mr. Pankaj’s home is in Adhchini village, it was more
convenient for him to establish an outlet at that place.

 Targeted customer base - Also since there is a residential complex nearby and there
is no dearth of targeted, young consumers of momos in the age bracket of 15-25
years because of the availability of a lot of private hostels and colleges in the nearby
area, it was more profitable to set up a small stall at the same place, to gradually
increase and eventually maintain the consumer base.

 Ease of procurement- Ber Sarai and Chirag Dilli are two prominent places (close to
Adhchini) from where he buys raw materials and deals with the wholesalers. Due to
the proximity of the places to the stall, it becomes more convenient to replenish the
stock, time and again.

 Low carrying cost- Since he carries the raw materials and other related goods on a
day to day business, on the same carriage, on which he sells the momos, the carrying
cost is extremely low.
