No user intervention is required for the configuration of accessories. The installer supports test-page printing at the final
stage of installation.

One-to-one cloning for device settings is supported

Dynamic, step-by-step instructions on control panel display for clearing misfeeds.

Simple and clean procedures for replacing toner and waste toner container; toner and waste toner container are user-
replaceable.

Easy navigation of the web user interface and fleet management utility.

IT administrators can utilize VNC remote panel operation for training purposes; the VNC Viewer can be operated remotely
in real time.

Two levels of email alerts at fleet management utility help IT personnel keep devices running; in addition, usage can be
tracked by device or by department for accurate cost analysis.

Instead of being browser-based, the fleet management utility requires software to be loaded on any PC where it is used.

The device’s web utility includes detailed status on consumables and media supplies. Status information on currently
running and pending jobs is also available, and history can be exported as a CSV or XML file. Administrators can also clone
settings from one device to another.

the web server. Applications loaded include Scan to/Print from Dropbox, One Drive,
Google Drive, Box, USB storage, and Google Cloud Print. Once loaded, the user can
add these applications to the control panel (user credentials are needed to use the
applications).

The process for replacing toner and waste toner con-

tainer is simple and clean. The waste toner container is
located in the front panel, where users must squeeze
both green tabs on the container in order to remove it.

WALK-UP EXPERIENCE
8.0

Users can easily switch between the Scan, Copy and Simple Scan and Simple Copy screens based on preference and need;
control panel can be customized on a user by user basis.

Scan preview can be enlarged using pinch technique with fingers; while users can also delete, replace, insert, and rotate
pages, onscreen editing is not supported.

Users cannot create subfolders to store files on the machine’s hard drive, but can register and rename a Job box using the
e-Filing selection on the Main page of the web UI.

Automatic skew correction with a document feeder option makes sure scanned documents are produced accurately.

Data entry is easy via the large QWERTY keypad with comfortably spaced keys. Scan to email does not support the ability
to store extensions or domains as one-touch keys. According to Toshiba, a software keyboard is customizable according to
the customer’s request.

The layout of the scan to USB menu is the same as the scan to email menu, which ensures a smooth transition from one to
the other when using functions such as preview, background suppression and blank page removal.

Toshiba e-STUDIO4518A Lab Test Report

Scan to Word, Excel and PowerPoint with optional embedded OCR is a big time saver, eliminating the need to reproduce or
search for the original electronic document to reuse. Users can also edit and add information to a digital version of a hard
copy document

Print from and Scan to USB menus do not auto-populate upon insertion of a USB flash drive without Toshiba’s Auto-
Launcher. While the Auto-Launcher comes at no extra cost to the customer, it is not an out-of-box feature and must be
requested prior to installation.

While users can scan and store Word, Excel and PowerPoint files onto a USB drive, they cannot print those files from the
USB drive.

Storing manually-entered addresses to the address book is supported, but not from the scan menu as some competitors
allow. Users must instead go to the address book under User Functions; just two scan destinations are supported in one
session.

Less intuitive procedures for network folder browsing from the control panel and the web, requiring the entry of IP
address or server name in order to browse network folders.

Jobs can be prioritized one slot at a time, but only quantity can be modified for jobs in queue. Additional modifying of jobs
in queue is supported when using multi-station print functionality, including the number of sets, and output in duplex.

Print Around allows jobs for which resources are available to be run, eliminating bottlenecks.

The Home screen can be customized on a user by user basis via card
or pin authentication, adding features such as ID card copy, duplex
copy, scan to file and templates for quick access. Function buttons
can easily be added and rearranged via drag and drop, and renamed
and resized. Apps for Scan to Dropbox, OneDrive and Google Drive
can be loaded onto the Home screen. Users can customize the panel’s
fonts and background color, as well. Each user can also register up to
75 of their own templates with a password or place the settings in the
public template group or useful template group.

Toshiba’s new optional embedded panel UI, Elevate, simplifies

workflows and boosts customization further by creating folders and
one-touch keys for commonly-used jobs per a particular vertical print
space (i.e. education, medical, house of worship, government, legal
etc.), eliminating clutter on the display and increasing productivity.

Toshiba e-STUDIO4518A Lab Test Report

In addition to one email address, the Simple Scan menu includes

selections for commonly used functions such as color, format,
resolution and duplex. The Scan Mode button will conveniently
bring users to the normal scan menu with all settings and multiple
destinations available.

The Simple Copy menu can be easily selected and includes selections
for commonly used functions including multiple sets, color mode,
reduction/enlargement, staple or non-staple and duplex.

Most commonly used copy features are accessible from the main
screen. In addition, paper source and exit tray can be conveniently
selected directly from the graphic of the device on the main Copy
tab. Proof Copy is also programmable from the Basic tab. Touch keys
for storage and template are also located at the top of every control
panel screen for easy access. With storage, scanned data can be
stored in the e-Filing box of the machine at the same time originals
are scanned or copied. Users can also opt to store scanned data in
the shared folder of the machine or a computer on the network.

WORKSTATION EXPERIENCE 7.5

Users can save up to 20 profiles per user or per driver-equipped PC for quick job programming, which can be done
conveniently from every tab of the driver. Users can also program workflows from the Templates tab.

Drivers offer point-and-click support for selection of paper source and output tray, as well as a job review that includes
both a graphical image with settings and a thumbnail view.

The process for secure print jobs is intuitive, and multiple jobs and sets can be output at once with the same PIN; a
function to display asterisk (*) instead of file name at the hold job list and job status queue is supported.

Toshiba e-STUDIO4518A Lab Test Report

With Multi-Station Print support, users can send a job from their desktop to a machine and can retrieve said job via
authentication at any machine on the same network. Multi-station print supports changing the number of sets and
outputting in duplex for jobs in queue.

While pin-protected PDFs stored on a USB drive are selectable, and a pin can be entered, encrypted files could not be
printed. The device would not accept the correct pin for a variety of secure files. Users also cannot print popular Office file
formats such as DOC, XLS, and PPT on a USB drive.

Users can designate a particular tab within the driver as the default using the Default Menu Setting selection from the
Others tab

Access to the web user interface from the driver provides highly detailed consumables and paper status, as well as highly
customizable email alerts; paper and toner status are also available at the control panel.

Status messages at the bottom of the control panel take the hassle out of checking for depleted supplies or maintenance
needs.

Stapling is not available for selection on the main driver screen in default settings. Duplex is set as a default setting, but is
not selectable from the main tab in case the user wished to print in simplex.

No support for direct print.

The standard drivers include seven tabs: Basic,

Finishing, Paper Handling, Image Quality, Effect, Others
and Templates. Some commonly used features, such
as paper source and size, exit tray, orientation, color
mode and quantity are located on the basic tab, but
users must navigate to the finishing tab to access
functions such as duplexing and stapling. The finishing
tab can be made the default tab whenever the driver is
opened. Any programmed settings can be saved as a
Profile from any tab and made accessible on every tab
of the driver. Incompatible settings are either grayed
out or changed to correct settings with a dialog that
manual operation is necessary. In addition, the setting
changes are viewable in the print preview, helping to
eliminate any miscues prior to submitting the job to
print

SUPPORTING TEST DATA

Test Environment: This product was tested in Buyers Lab’s US test lab, in an environment monitored by two
Temp/RH chart recorders, which ensures that the typical office conditions are being maintained. All products lab
tested by Buyers Lab are powered by dedicated circuits.

Test Equipment: Buyers Lab’s dedicated test network in the US, consisting of Windows 2008 servers, Windows 7,
and 8 and 10 workstations, 10/100/1000BaseTX network switches and CAT5e/6 cabling.

Test Duration: Products are tested for two months, a portion of which consists of a durability test during which
the product is run at half of its manufacturer-rated maximum monthly volume, with 25 percent of the test
volume comprised of copy jobs and 75 percent comprised of print jobs. Buyers Lab’s daily test usage is designed
to replicate real-world use over an eight-hour workday, and as such includes a mix of various-size documents,
simplex and duplex modes, and a mix of short, moderate and long run lengths, and on/off cycles, throughout
the day. The durability evaluation also includes testing of the document feeder/scanner in simplex and duplex
modes for an additional 10 percent of the monthly maximum volume, evenly divided over the course of the test.

Tested Configuration: Toshiba e-STUDIO4518A base unit, plus Envelope Feeder (MY-1049), Bridge Unit (KN-
5005), Hole Punch (MJ-6105N), Dual Scan Document Feeder (MR-4000), Booklet Finisher (MJ-1110), Card Reader
Holder (GR-1320), Interface USB Hub Kit (GR-1310), Wireless LAN/Bluetooth (GN-4020), and Embedded OCR En-
abler (GS-1080).

Competitive Average Model Group: Buyers Lab defines competitive models as comparably equipped
models, that support the same maximum paper size as the tested model, in the same speed range (+/- 5ppm),
with a similar duty cycle and target market. Tested speed performance is compared to competitive devices in
this speed range tested to date. For all other sections that have data analysis, comparisons are made against
competitive devices in this speed range.

Test Procedures: Buyers Lab’s lab testing includes both Buyers Lab proprietary and industry-standard test
procedures and documents. The reliability test is conducted using Georgia Pacific and Boise paper in the US,
and UPM, Data Copy and Mondi paper in the UK. In both labs, 30 percent of the paper is recycled. The media
used for image quality testing is Georgia Pacific Printing Paper (24 lb., 96 brightness) in the US and UPM Future
ImageTech 100 gsm in the UK.

Note: This report is based on Buyers Lab testing one representative test sample at a specific point in time.
Buyers Lab is not responsible for differences in performance that may be the result of lot-to-lot variation,
changes in production and machine modifications implemented by the manufacturer, service issues or any
other reason beyond Buyers Lab’s control. Test unit serial #: CZGH10704
