POSITION DESCRIPTION- Program Assistant

Job Title: Program Assistant Program: All Center: Benefit Level: None
Immediate Supervisor: Program Director Positions Supervised: None
Assigned Hours: 25 hours weekly; or As Determined Via Job Posting
Job Responsibilities: Assist with center programmatic activities as directed
Qualifications:
 Unwavering commitment to Christ-centered quality programs and outreach to children/families
 Experience in youth ministry or related field, ability to point to specific examples of having led
groups of children effectively
 Positive results from criminal background check, reference check and drug testing
 Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with
excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
 Passion, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed
 The Kirwan Homes Program Assistant must be bilingual; speak English and Spanish.

 First Aid, CPR AED and  Carry out responsibilities in a timely manner
Child Abuse training*  Work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
 Age 21 or older with valid driver’s license and ability to drive van to
transport youth

% Of Time Illustrative Duties:
40% Oversee group programming
Communicate regularly with participants and parents regarding center programming
Provide engaging instruction, leadership and mentoring for all assigned center group
activities
Coordinate involvement with other agencies involved with center programming
Develop plan for maintaining high attendance in group sessions
Plan, evaluate and clean up before and after center activities
30% Work with other staff to develop programming around identified needs
Meet regularly with Program Director for program review and improvement
Develop detailed plans for all assigned sessions and activities
Provide or arrange for thorough clean up after all assigned group activities
Complete monthly reports
30% Collect, tabulate and provide monthly statistical reports
Collect, tabulate and provide monthly meal reports
