1. Is technology a boon or bane?

Technology is a blessing because there is a lot that we can do which we could not do
before. With cellphones, webcam you will be closer to someone miles away. With
television, we can watch events as they happen all over the globe. Teaching and
learning have become more novel, stimulating, exciting and engaging with the use of
multimedia. With the use of internet we can easily search the information that we
need that’s why technology is very helpful for humankind nowadays. However, when
it is not properly used, technology become a detriment for learning and development.
It can destroy relationships. People are most focus on their gadgets rather than the
people around them. The students or the teenagers spends many hours browsing
internet rather than studying. They can easily access some sites that is not allowed for
them. We overuse and abuse television or film viewing as a strategy to kill time.
2. In our digital age today, is technology does really meet the needs of the
learner in psychological, behavioral and physical development?
Technology has transformed with our culture. There are many benefits for students
with the new advancements of technology. Teachers have seen may of these benefits
with the influence of technology on their students. Many of the students find a sense
of accomplishment when working with technology. Students are now more willing to
write and work on computational skills. Then students find these task appealing and
are able to achieve more. The use of computers and internet has opened up a world of
opportunity to students, who consequently have access to great deal more
information, which can help them learn and conduct research. However, one of the
major concers about technology in the classroom is that it prevents students from
developing and using basic literacy. The exclusive use of computer-based tools such
as spelling and grammar checker, as well as calculators, enable students to complete
assignments without knowing how to manually perform those same function. The
learners became lazy, impatient and obese. They are sitting all day with their
computers or gadgets and they don’t have time to do some exercise.
3. Technology is essential nowadays, but what can you say to those teachers
who cannot adopt the system?
I agree that technology alone does not improve education, but, nevertheless, the
technology integration is a must nowadays. Technology integration is a progressive
process because teachers need to recognize educational technology and understand
that can be used with a specific subject. Adoption or resistance of technology is a
complex process. Teachers need time to learn how to use the technology inside the
classroom. Sharing experiences is one of the best ways to promote new teaching
methodologies and therefore the effective integration of technology in classrooms,
with involved students.
