Note: The MODEL 1022A is adjusted in combination with the pickup. Be sure to use the equipment together with the attached pickup. ° If another pickup is used, the sensitivity and frequency characteristics may not satisfy the specification. 2.2.2 Power switch A) OFF Turns off the power supply of the equipment. B) BATT —_Used to check the residual capacity of the battery. When the meter indicates the left side of the battery check position, replace the battery with a new one. C) MEAS Turns on the power supply of the equipment 2.2.3 Tunable filter switch Set this switch to “FIL IN” for vibration frequency analysis. A) x10 Turns on the tunable filter. The value resulting from multiplying the frequency dial value by 10 is an analysis frequency. B) «100 Turns on the tunable filter. The value resulting from multiplying the frequency dial value by 100 is an analysis frequency. C) FIL OUT Turns off the tunable filter. The overall value is. measured. The frequency dial becomes ineffective. 2.2.4 Frequency dial ‘This dial 1s used when the tunable fitter Is x10 or x100. The unit is Hz. 2.2.5 Function switch A) ACC Used for vibration acceleration (m/s* (Peak)). B) VEL used for vibration velocity (mm/s (RMS)). Cc) DISP Vibration displacement (um (P-P)). 2.2.6 Full scale range switch This switch changes the full scale in 10 dB steps at each vibration measurement. 2.2.7 Analog indicator This has a double scale of 0 to 1 and 0 to 3 and provides the full scale selected by the range switch. This is also used to check the residual capacity of the battery. 2.2.8 Battery box (rear side) When replacing the battery, open the cover and replace the battery. 2.2.9 Output terminal This is a vibration waveform output (AC output) and + 1 V/FS. The output resistance is 1 kQ. (In the optional DC output specification, this terminal becomes a +1 WFS level output.) 3. Operation Required before Using the Equipment Before using the equipment, check the residual capacity of the battery. When the battery with a lowered residual capacity is used for measurement, the equipment cannot provide accurate measurement. 4. Vibration Measurement 4.1 Installing the pickup A) Method using a stud (screw) Fix the pickup on a smooth surface by tightening a stud (screw: M10 P = 1). This method is an idea! one because of its high resonance frequency. However, the methods (B) or (C) may be-simpler and more convenient depending on the frequency and magnitude of the vibration to be measured. B) Method using a magnet (option) Install the pickup on a smooth surface by using a magnet holder (MG-2). ©) Method using a contact pin Install the attached contact pin on the pickup and push it by hand. This is the simplest and most convenient method and suitable to a case where the vibration is not large, namely, 500 Hz or less. Note: Install the pickup in such a way that the end of the contact pin installation faces downward from the horizontal line. If it faces upward, the stroke of the detector coil becomes zero, so that the equipment cannot provide accurate measurement. 4.2 Connecting the pickup to the equipment Connect the pickup to the pickup input connector of the equipment by using the attached pickup cable. 4.3 Setting the measurement mode and range Set the filter switch to “FIL OUT" for non-analysis. For vibration frequency analysis, refer to sub-section 4.3.4, 4.3.1 Acceleration measurement Set the function switch to “ACC” and turn the full scale range switch so that the reading of indicator may be at an easy-to read position. (Measurement example) Range switch: 3 m/s* (Peak)’, indicator reading: center In this case, the full scale is “3.16 m/s? (Peak)", so the lower scale is used for reading and the measured value is 1.58 m/s* (Peak). 4.3.2 Velocity measurement Set the function switch to "VEL" and turn the full scale range switch so that the reading of indicator may be at an easy-to read position. (Measurement example) Range ewitch: 10 mm/s (RMS)", indicator reading: center In this case, the full scale is ‘10 mm/s (RMS)", so the upper scale is used for reading and the measured value is 5 mm/s (RMS). 4.3.3 Displacement measurement Set the function switch to "DISP" and turn the full scale range switch so that the reading of indicator may be at an easy-to read Position. {Measurement example) Range switch: 100 ym (P-P)", indicator reading: center In this case, the full scale is “100 ym (P-P)”, so the upper scale is used for reading and the measured value is 50 ym (P-P). 4.3.4 Vibration frequency analysis Set the filter switch to “FIL IN" and select "x10" or "x100” depending on the frequency to be analyzed. When "x10" is selected, the equipment can analyze 10 to 100 Hz depending on the position of the frequency dial. When “x100" is selected, the equipment can analyze 100 to 1000 Hz depending on the position of the frequency dial. The tunable filter can be used for any of acceleration, velocity, and displacement measurements. During measurement. if the filter switch is set to "x10" or "“x100". the value becomes smaller than before. Next, turn the frequency dial and stop it at a position where the meter value becomes the maximum in the range of 1 to 10 scale divisions. The frequency at that time (frequency dial value x filter switch) is an analyzed frequency value and the vibration can be read on the meter. Note: When using the tunable filter, be sure to determine a proper range with "FIL OUT" and then set the switch to "FIL IN". With “FIL IN", don't change the full scale range switch and the function switch. 5. Use of Output Signal In the AC output specification (standard), when OUTPUT is connected to a device such as oscilloscope and FFT, it is possible to observe or analyze vibration waveforms. In the DC output specification (option), when OUTPUT is connected to a device such as chart recorder, it is possible to record or observe vibration levels. 6. Operation Required after Using the Equipment After using the equipment, be sure to turn off the power switch. When the equipment is not to be used for a long time, remove the dry cell battery because its inside may be corroded by liquid leak from the dry cell battery. 7. Replacement of Dry Cell Battery Open the lid of the battory box provided on the bottom af the equipment and replace the dry cell battery with a new one. When removing the old dry cell battery from the battery snap; hold the battery snap portion with fingers without pulling the lead wire of the battery snap. . Pulling the lead wire of the battery snap will result in wire breaking. 8.
