ABSTRACT

Roof is the cover of building as a whole to the influence of weather: heat, rain,
wind, etc. The good roof cover requirements are durable, waterproof, lightweight and
strong from the weather. Concrete roof tiles are good at holding water, but concrete roof
tiles have disadvantages, they are large weight and minimal flexural strength. The
researchers used less-known materials, such as pumice breccia and palm fiber. So that it
is possible for the tile to be obtained to be lighter and the flexural load to be greater.
This research method uses the experimental method. The concrete roof tiles that
made are expected to the qualify of SNI 0096: 2007. The test material was made in a
comparison of 1SM: 3BA: 2KM with the addition of palm fiber of 0gr, 25gr, 50gr, 75gr,
and 100gr. Making test specimens is carried out in the Pyramid concrete tile factory, Jalan
Kyai Maksum, Sidoagung Village, Tempuran, Magelang Regency. Tests were carried out
at the Laboratory of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Tidar University,
Magelang and Building Materials Laboratory, Department of Civil Engineering, Gadjah
Mada University, Yogyakarta. The analysis of data in this study used a single factor
ANOVA analysis.
The highest flexural load test results were 1991.78 N, such as the addition of 100
grams of palm fiber, while the lowest flexuran load was 1401.12 N at the addition of 0
grams of palm fiber so that all the tests qualify of SNI standards. In testing the highest yield
of water infiltration, which is 9.45%, the addition of 100 grams qualify of SNI 0096: 2007,
which is the highest water absorption of 10%. While testing of water seepage, there is no
seepage on all specimens. In the test of the visible test and the size test qualify of SNI 0096:
2007 too. It was concluded that only concrete roof tiles with an addition of 0 grams qualify
of SNI 0096: 2007 about concrete roof tiles.
