Discussion/Analysis

In conducting this experiment we were provided an apparatus in which is its called the force
table, it’s a physics laboratory apparatus in which it has 4 cable or chain like attached to a
center ring. In order for the ring to be at the center you’ll need to adjust the place of the
chains or cables in order for it be stabilized at the center. Then we started with our 1st trial
(TRIAL 1) by adjusting the cables making sure the ring is at the center, then we proceeded
with adding forces on each cables (REFER to Table 1) and the angles we got are 44° , 118° ,
217° and 299° (Table 1). And with the recorded values we now need to compute for Fx and Fy
using the formulas; Fx = F1cosθ1 +F2cosθ2+F3cosθ3 and Fy = F1cosθ1 +F2cosθ2+F3cosθ3 and
the computed values resulted to Fx = -30.94 and Fy = 56.23. And we determine the value of
the hypotenuse which is R, resulting R = 64.18. We also determined the percentage error of R
and θ and it appears R = 1.26% and θ = 0.06%.

F2 60 118

Conclusion

Based on our experiment and observation, I have finally learned how to use a Force Table
which is a physics laboratory apparatus, by adding vectors by the use of analytical method
and the operation of vectors to represent forces. By the use of trail and error, If we configure
the cables properly we will have a balanced or even more accurate force table that may lead
to lower percent error.
Even though our trials and results fall under the reasonable range because it didn’t exceeded
by 2.00%. The force table and its usage is to form/establish equilibrium for a molecule and
how the vectors can be now measured by it.
