Getting Started

Intended Use
The BondMaster Pitch-Catch Probe Adaptor is designed to inspect composite materials. Do not use
the BondMaster Pitch-Catch Probe Adaptor for any purpose other than its intended use. If the
equipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the protection provided by the
equipment could be impaired. The BondMaster Pitch-Catch Probe Adaptor is designed to be used
with the OmniScan Bond Testing C-Scan.

Instruction Manual
This document only contains information for starting up the BondMaster Pitch-Catch Probe Adaptor.
The OmniScan Bond Testing C-scan— User’s Guide (P/N: DMTA-20023-01EN) contains complete and
essential information on how to use the equipment safely and effectively. Before using the equipment,
thoroughly review the User’s Guide and use the product as instructed. Keep the User’s Guide in a safe
and accessible location.

• Designed to meet IP50 environmental rating when connected on both ends. IP50 means that the
equipment has limited dust ingress protection, but no protection from water ingress. Do not
immerse the adaptor in water or expose to liquids.

The CE marking is a declaration that this product

conforms to all the applicable directives of the European
Community. See the Declaration of Conformity for details.

The WEEE symbol indicates that the product must not be

disposed of as unsorted municipal waste, but should be
collected separately.

Setup Information
The probe is connected to the OmniScan MX ECA/ECT module through the BondMaster Pitch-Catch
Probe Adaptor. This adaptor allows you to use a BondMaster probe with the Bondmaster C-scan
complete solution. Make sure that the adaptor is correctly connected to the probe and OmniScan to
ensure proper functioning of the solution.

To connect the adaptor

1. Connect the adaptor to the 4CH connector on the OmniScan instrument.
2. Install the probe on the XY Scanner.
3. Connect the adaptor to the probe connection.
4. Use the CompactFlash MXB card.
5. Select the version (if necessary).
6. The default setup is automatically loaded.

Casing and Application Module Cleaning

To clean the casing and acquisition module
1. Make sure that the instrument is turned off, the power cord is disconnected, and the batteries have
been removed.
2. Disconnect all cables and connectors, and make sure that all external ports on the OmniScan have
been covered with their rubber protectors.
3. Make sure that the battery compartment door is securely closed, and that an acquisition module
has been installed on the OmniScan.
4. To restore the instrument’s original finish, clean the casing and module with a soft cloth.

Do not immerse in water or expose to liquids. The adaptor is not protected against water ingress.

5. To remove persistent stains, use a damp cloth and a mild, soap solution. Do not use abrasive
products or powerful solvents, which could damage the finish.
6. After removing the connector protectors, make sure the connectors are dry before anything
connecting anything to them. Otherwise, dry them with a soft, dry cloth, or allow them to air-dry.
