Initial Report on the Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning in Cabucgayan, Bili A. Situation Overview: * On December 22, 2016, DOH ROB HEMO reported six (6) cases of paralytic shellfish poisoning from the Municipality of Cabucgayan, Biliran, Four (4) were admitted in Biliran Provincial Hospital, two (2) as out-patient. Of the four (4) admitted, one (1) patient died at around 9:20 PM of 21 December 2016. * Per PIDSR 8 report, shellfish was bought from a vendor of Brgy. Gayad, Carigara, Leyte. Affected residents experienced nausea, vomiting, tingling sensation of lips and upper extremities and abdominal pain, B. The evacuees were brought to the evacuation center at Poblacion, Catarman, Northern Samar. Said activity ended at about 1:00 PM of the same day. 20" Infantry Battalion * At around 2:30 AM 17 December 2016, one squad of the 2018 on board one (1) M250 and one (1) KM450 proceeded to Catubig, Northern Samar town proper and conducted Humanitarian Assistance Disaster Response (HADR) to five (5) households affected by flooding of Catubig-Las Navas River.
