The school website is the standard format for all Johnston County Schools. At the top, the school does
individualize their scrolling pictures and keeps these updated often. The scrolling event dates are also updated.
The pages are very standard and include all relevant information that parents need, with the exception of a
calendar. When the icon near the current events scroll is clicked, a clean printable version of the month’s events
is presented. As a parent, I would like to know more, perhaps a grade level calendar that includes testing dates,
field trips or grade level schedules for the day. The website also includes an entire page of educational digital
games and websites that can be accessed from home for all grade levels. The website could also include a page
or a link with newsletters sent to parents. Even if the most current newsletter is not available, the site should
have archived newsletters for potential parents to explore. Riverwood Elementary School has a positive online
presence.
