Background

The KCC Bildcon Pvt.Ltd, had earlier approached CRRI, through his letter by mail
March, 2017, requesting to take up a Design mix and testing of materials: GSB, WMM,
DBM. Further correspondences and follow up by both AAI and CRRI led to arrive at a
mutual consent for taking up a technical assignment by KCC Bildcon Pvt.Ltd as an
technical service. CRRI vide its letter No. KCC/AF/PURNEA/2019/1103 Dt: 13.03.2019.
Communicated its acceptance and accordingly proceeded with the requirements. KCC
Bildcon Pvt.Ltd confirmed the assignment in the first week of June 2019 and
accordingly subsequent course of action was planned.

Blending of Aggregates
Blending exercise was carried out to identify the proportion of different sizes of
aggregates are to be mixed to achieve the gradation specified by MORTH for GSB-V
and WMM. The following aggregates were available for blending.

1. 40 mm Aggregates
2. 20 mm Aggregates
3. 10 mm Aggregates
4. Stone Dust

Details of the gradations of different sizes of aggregates are shown in Figure1 and
2 respectively for GSB and WMM. Final blending proportions (GSB and WMM) selected
are also given in Table 1 and 2. The laboratory results (OMC, MDD, CBR) obtained
for GSB-V and WMM are presented in Table 1 and 2 respectively.
