Developments Panel Discussion

Eric has been involved in the construction industry for

more than 25 years. He brings a wide range of skills
and project management experience in overseeing major
renovation and capital improvements for commercial and
cultural projects.

Eric has completed multiple concurrent capital

ERIC HAHN
improvement projects for The Metropolitan Museum of
Senior Director Art. This includes the recently completed iconic redesign
Colliers International of the outdoor plaza that extends from 80th Street to
84th Street along Fifth Avenue and the renovation of
the Costume Institute Galleries. Eric is also overseeing
several infrastructure upgrades within the facility, such
as the replacement of over 30,000 sf of skylights above
the European Paintings Galleries and the complete
replacement of the galleries’ air conditioning systems.

Additionally, he is working on the development of a new

building for a private school on the Upper East Side that
includes a secondary modernization project of the existing
facility. He has been involved since early programming
and the team formation phase of the project. Eric recently
completed a modest expansion of the rooftop level of the
University Club. This was a carefully coordinated project
that consisted of two rooftop additions being performed
on a landmarked building. This work was performed while
the spaces directly below remained in full operation. It was
successfully completed in early 2016.

Prior to joining Colliers Project Leaders, Eric worked at The

Metropolitan Museum of Art for 14 years as the General
Manager for Capital Construction where he was responsible
for approximately $80 Million worth of construction a year.
In addition to his work at the Museum, Eric has worked
as a construction manager and as a design engineer. His
unique background as an owner, builder and designer has
been of great value when working on complex projects with
challenging site logistics, schedules and budgets.

CHUCK KNEAVES the owner throughout the project’s life cycle, including
Vice President, Project Management design, construction and operation of the facility. As a
Lehrer Cumming mechanical engineer with a design background, combined
with a Master of Business Administration, Chuck brings a
complete view of the technical and commercial aspects
of construction management to ensure the highest result
for the institutional and public Owners for whom he has
delivered projects. Some of the major projects that Chuck
has been instrumental in include Alfred Lerner Hall and
the Renovation of Low Memorial Library at Columbia
University, the National September 11 Memorial and
Museum, and the MoMA Expansion. Chuck has also
guest lectured at Columbia University and NYU School of
Continuing Education.

Michelle brings invaluable project experience and assiduity

to a wide range of large, complex projects. Primarily working
on base building and cladding, Michelle has also enjoyed
working through the development of interior spaces for
projects ranging from residential renovations to million
square-foot new construction. Throughout the design and
MICHELLE NEARY construction phases, Michelle’s familiarity with codes
Architect, Associate translates into her ability to anticipate design conflicts and
Gensler provide design solutions at the earliest stages of the project.
