It is a doctor’s responsibility to inform patients if they have a serious disease.

Doctors should not

be allowed to withhold medical information from their patients. To what extent do you agree or
disagree with this statement?

Doctors are responsible for accurately informing patients about their current disease, therefore,
there are no allowance to hide medical information from their patients. Personally judging, a
sharp agreement is my point of view as the transparency of medical information is the core
factor in the process of accepting reality and regaining a better quality of living.

Firstly, regarding the benefit in terms of finance, informing accurately even if patients have a
serious disease can helps saving a significant amount of government money. In detail, receiving
falsified medical record could leads to ineffective, or even harmful process of curing, which
would deplete the financial resources of the authorities. Additionally, lying is unethically
acceptable among the world, especially in healthcare sector. Such misinformed information may
makes patients and their families misunderstanding of the current circumstance, which may
cause accidental deaths and raise the disputation of the society. As a result, doctors may be
sentenced because of the wrong information that they give to patients.

Secondly, analyzing the merits of not down-grading the conditions when reporting, patients
would be given an advantage of time and mental state. In detail, after receiving such
information, patients together with professional medical staffs could come up with the most
agreeable plan, which allows patients to organizing their lives and to prepare their affairs in
order. Furthermore, this is likely that patients would commit to have the punctuality and the
desire to combat their conditions as they know what is the best for them with such accurate
sources of information. As a result, practitioners should not be allowed to de-escalate medical
conditions to any extent.

To conclude, doctors should deliver the medical records with accuracy to patients even the
challenges of facing such harsh conditions is overwhelming for human being.
