Lauterbrunnen, which is often ranked as one of the most beautiful places in

Switzerland. The very name �Lauter Brunnen� (�many fountains�) suggests the
magnificence of this landscape. There are 72 waterfalls in the Lauterbrunnen
Valley, the most famous being the Staubbach Falls. Plunging almost 300 meters from
an overhanging rock face, they are one of the highest free-falling waterfalls in
Europe. Afterwards, our next stop is Interlaken, where you will have time to stroll
around Switzerland�s most beautiful lake, Lake Brienz and also have the chance to
go on thrilling jet boat ride around the lake! (optional extra)

To add a bit more information, there are basically three ways to the top from
Luzern.

1. Bus to Kriens, then gondola/cable car to the top.

2. Train to Alpnachstad, then cogwheel train to the top.

3. Boat to Alpnachstad, then cogwheel train to the top.

You can buy various round trip tickets that allow you to go up one way and down
another; or of course you can go up and down the same way, or even walk part or all
of the way up or down - anything is possible. Have a look at pilatus.ch for all the
