NOTE ~ Values: are not yot established for 2000-, 8000-, and 4000-ampere switches. 9.4.7 ‘Domestic shipment Outdoor alr switches rated 48.3 kV and below shall be shipped completely assembled with Insulators. The insulators for switches rated above 48.3 kV may be shipped separately. 4 Indoor alr switches (not metal-en- closed) 4.1 Basis of preferred ratings Indoor alr switches have the same basis for preferred ratings as do outdoor alr switches, except without wind loads and Ice ratings. 4.2. Preferred ratings ‘The preferred voltage, continuous current, and short-time current ratings of various construc- tions of indoor air switches at a frequency of 60 Hz shall be in accordance with table 6. 4.3. Dielectric test voltages 4.3.1 Energized parts to ground Indoorair switches, in eitherthe openor closed positions, shall withstand the dielectric test ‘voltagoe in aecordanae with eolumne 2, 3, and 4 of table 6. 4.3.2“ Open gap withstand Tha fongth of break of indoor air switches, when in the full open position, shall be such that the open gap or gaps.will withstand a test. voltage that is 10% in excess of the low-tre- ‘quency impulse and dry withstand test volt- ages given in columns 2 and 4 of table 6. Holes shall accommodate bolts 4/2 Inch (42.7 mm) jn dlametor. 44.3 Phase spacing (pole spacing) ‘The minimum metal-to-metal clearance be- tween phases for Indoor air switches and bus supports shall be as recommended In table 7. 4.44 Single pole switch dimensions Minimum metal-to-metal single pole break distances (switch full open position) shall be as recommended in table 7 with possible modifications as noted. 5 Grounding switches 6.1 Basis of preferred ratings ‘The ratings of high-voltage grounding switch shall be based on the definltive conditions as specified in ANSVIEEE C37.30. 5.2 Preferred ratings ‘The preterred voltage and short-time cutrent ratings of grounding switches at a frequency of 60,Hz shall be in accordance with table 1. 5.3 Electrical clearances ‘The electrical clearance between the ground- ing blade and the noarest energized part dur- {ng any position of grounding biade travel shall not be fess than the gap distances listed in table 8. In the fully opened positfan of the ‘grounding biade, the rated withstand require- ments of columns 2 and 4 of table 1 must bo maintained.
