Its Humble Beginning

Batitang in a Capsule Its Humble Beginning According to the old folks of Batitang,
BARRIO BATITANG was named after its first kaingero, “Juan Batit”. In Ilocano dialect,
“Batit” means small.

Juan batit was a famous farmer for he produced extraordinary fruits and vegetables.
People from the barrio and other places visited him and usually brought with them the
harvest that came from his farm, pointing to the place where Juan live. From then on, the
barrio was called “BATITANG” due to the assimilation and in honor of Juan Batit.
