CAO: Describe your competences as an

asset
Perpose:
CAO is an exercise where you practice describing how a specific company can gain and produce a tangible
profit or output, if they make use of your competences. In this exercise you have to describe how your
Competences and the experiences you have made, are an Asset/advantage for the company and how it can
create a profitable Output for the specific company by hiring you.

First, brainstorm on your most significant competences.


Then choose one and go through the exercise.

Exercise guide:
Two-two:
1. One person chooses a company or organization that he/she find interesting.
2. Then this person describes a Competence or an Experience that shows a valuable part of your
academic self.
3. Then describe how this Competence is an Asset for the company.
4. Finally describe how this asset can create a profitable Outcome for the company.
In a group:
1. Each person chooses a company or organisation that they find interesting.
2. A focus person is chosen to begin the session.
3. The focus person describes a Competence/Experience that shows a valuable part of their academic self
4. The other group members take turn to suggest how the specific competence could be an Asset for the
company.
5. Finally the whole group discuss how the specific company can gain a valuable Outcome from the
Asset(s).

I have specialised in marketing


I quickly gain an understanding of new material
I have great knowledge of cultural differences
I am good at communication
I can make thorough analysis of a big data material
I have a good ability to work independently and structured
