Design of reactor:

To design the reactor, one previous reactor by murthy[research paper] was considered as reference. The
reference reactor is as follows:

The dimensions of reference reactor are as follows:

Outer diameter=27mm

Length=150mm

Filter diameter=12mm

Hence, Length to diameter ratio is

Capacity of reactor= 1 kg

The reactor used for experimental setup is having capacity of 0.5kg.

By formula for density=mass/volume

Mass=volume*density
The density is considered to be 860kg/m3 and volume is considered by considering filter diameter as
inner tube

Hence, volume= Pi/4*(D2-122)*l

By putting length to diameter ratio from reference setup

Therefore, the final equation is

0.5=860*Pi/4*(D2-122)*5.5D

One cubic polynomial is formed from above equation, by applying trial and error method

The results are:

D = 62.2mm

L = 345.21mm
