GOOGLE HAS MADE US STUPID?

The way we are going into communication nowadays is radically different and complex in
comparison with the way we stayed in touch twenty years ago. Internet and new
technology around it: smartphones, computers, google, apps etc., have changed our
lives.

Internet and Google in particular are, obviously, a great progress for the world. If you ask
me what is my take on, I can’t really see a lot of negatives.

One of the biggest benefits is that you can communicate instantly with any person in any
part of the world. You can keep in contact with a friend who is living in Australia easily,
we can also see each other live! Few years ago that was something imposible even to
imagin. And what about social networks? As far as I am concerm, they have deeply
changed our relationsheps. I remember perfecly the day I created a Facebook acount, a
friend of my who is living in London invited me to conect. I thoght I was something that
will never take off, little did I know! Now I don't use it any more, but young people
believe in openness, they like sharing their private lives online. Strange enough!

The magic of the interconnected world is that everything is close, we can get all kind of
information in a click. When I was a student, I spent a great sum of hours at the library
searching for information. Now, whith Google, It's not necessary. And this new way of
communication has a lot of potential in business too. I don’t keep up with the latest
technological developments or apps, but internet has changed the way I look for
information. I can hardly remember when was the last time I bought a newspaper.

Are we really now better communicated? From what I can gather, not at all. The reality is
that, regarding to human relations, most people use internet in a bad way. This is largely
due to the fact that people spent a big part of their free time at watching Facebook,
Instagran, Twiter, etc. without playing attention at friends or family they have in front of
theirs. Never had I imagined something so sad.

Are we really now better informed? Quite franckly, I doubt it very much. We are expose
to a lot of medias and ways of searching news, but the problem is to choose the right
between all of them. We heard recently about fakes news, the way that Facebook uses
our data and the methods that politicians or enterprises uses internet to manipulate.

To sum up, in my honest opinion, I sure that internet and google are a force for good in
the world, but if we use it in the correct way.
