Why a new report card?


OCSI elementary is implementing a new standards-based
report card for students in grades K-5.

How to read the new


report card
A standards-based report card lists the
knowledge and skills that students are
responsible for in each subject area at a
particular grade level.

Q: What are the Habits for Successful Learners?

A: In line with OCSI’s behavior policy, we will report on students’ ability to


show kindness, self-control, respect, and hard work in the classroom.

Q: Will there still be teacher comments?

A: Teachers may continue to provide comments; however, they may write


less than in the past since more specific information is reported in the
standards-based report card now.

Q: What is the time frame for the report card?

A: Each quarter, a report card will be sent home with your child. Progress reports are always available to
parents through Jupiter.

Q: Will there still be an Honor Roll for grades 4 and 5?

A: Yes, Honor Roll will be awarded based on a child earning all 3s and 4s (Honor Roll) and all 4s
(Principal's List).
