Article blocks

Description:

The creation of country-/branch-specific and user specific articles requires some conditions, which need to be
applied to be able to use these plan headers in the Tipos Catalogue.

Example:

Command progress:

Preparation and appointments of the DWG's for creation of article blocks:

z For creation of article blocks there are prescribed layers which have to be used. Here the most
important are enumerated.

Layer Content Color Line weight

The attributes
ARTICLENUMBER and
ACWC_ATTRIB: BLOCKMODIFIEDDATE cyan 0.35
must be located on this
layer.
The normal drawn main
ACWC_FWORK: geometry of the library cyan 0,35
part
The thin drawn main
ACWC_FWORK-THIN: geometry of the library yellow 0.25
part
The thick drawn main
ACWC_FWORK-THICK: geometry of the library white 0.50
part
For "function points", e.g.:
ACWC_TIERODPOS : anchor positions on frame white 0.50
formwork

Hint:

You will find all detailed information like layers, line weights or text heights for creation of article blocks in the
subsequent topic "Details".
This document contains all details according to the R&D guidelines for creation of article blocks.

z If it is a VIB or a country-specific plan header, the BLOCKMODIFIEDDATE has to be located on the

normally frozen layer "ACWC_ATTRIB". This is necessary so that the analysis of the blocks works.

The insertion point of this attribute is always the lower right corner on the frame of the plan header.
You can copy and insert the "BLOCKMODIFIEDDATE" from an already existing plan header. Don't
forget to set the date current (change attribute).

z When you create an country-specific article block, beside the "BLOCKMODIFIEDDATE" the attribute
"ARTICLENUMBER" must exist. That is really important for DokaCAD and the Piecelist Editor.

z For the creation of piece lists and for the article designation it is necessary to assign to each standard
block an article number attribute in the form "DOKA_Article number".
1. Enter the ACAD command „ATTDEF“ in the command line and create the article number

attribute with the following parameters in the appearing dialogue.

z Designation= ARTICLENUMBER
z Default= Doka_588100000 (corresponding article number)
z Check the options "Constant" and "Lock position"

Attention:
Each block can only contain one attribute for the article number!
Sub blocks must not be contained in the block to be created since the block would refer to itself
at homonymy.
A block which is referring to itself can not be inserted into the drawing and thus would be
created wrong.

Example:

Article blocks Page 4 of 8

z The basis point of the block should be selected useful for further inserting in projects.

z The predefined text style "ACWC_Arial" (Arial Unicode MS) has to be used for all created texts. Please
use only single line texts and no multiline texts.

Note:

The similar named font "@Arial Unicode MS" must not be used as it might cause problems in the
drawing subsequently!!

Creation of an article block:

1. Before the block can be saved finally, everything need to be purged.

Use the command "PURGE" for purging the drawing.

2. Maximise the view of the block with the command "Zoom Extents". Thereby, the preview picture is
created accurate in the TipCat.

3. Save the block as file with the command "WBLOCK" or short "WB". Take care about the naming
convention which is described below.

Attention:
Take care about the selected option "Insert units". Consistent with the region or the later
application area, "millimeters"or "inch" has to be adjusted accordingly!
Correctly, the block should be saved in the same unit as used in the drawing.
Means, if the drawing was started metric and the block was constructed metric, it must be
stored also metric (mm).

4. After all necessary blocks have been created, they should be tested in DokaCAD with a sample at
least.

5. It is the best to test all new plan headers in your own Tipos 8 folder.

Copy the created blocks in this folder: C:\Users\username\My Documents\My Tipos.8\DokaCAD\Blocks

It's also recommended to print the inserted plan headers, to be able to check the result on
paper.

6. The Autosort.txt file is automatically created in the relevant folder when a new label or block is inserted
in a drawing. Subsequently, the file can be edited with a text editor (e.g. Notepad++). If an Autosort file
already exists, a new label or block is inserted into this as new data line at the end of the list.
The sorting and display of country-specific article blocks/labels in the TipCat is defined in the file
"Autosort.txt".
You will find details for the creation and configuration in the topic Autosort.txt.

7. If all article blocks have been completed to your satisfaction, they need to be implemented into the file
system accordingly. That is necessary to be able to use them in the programs.
The right data paths and procedures can be read in the topics of Storage structure.

Naming convention for article blocks:

For the creation of article blocks the blocks must be created according to the following naming convention:

DOKA@%Article number%@%Article designation%%Blank%%Viewcode%@%Country%@%Branch%@%

Language%.dwg

Example:

DOKA
For the following two reasons "DOKA" must be specified at the beginning of a block name:

1. If something other than "DOKA" is specified in the block name, the block preview in the Tipos
Catalogue is displayed wrong (white background and yellow coloured lines).
2. Data-technical also additional purchase parts or formwork parts from competitors could be
deposited and be inserted from the Tipos catalogue. To be able to distinguish the parts of each
other, this name convention is required.

@
Is registered by the program as separator. Thus, the single naming segments can be recognized and
processed properly.

ARTICLE NUMBER
Here the article number of the article is specified (identical to discos if available).

ARTICLE DESIGNATION
Here the name/designation of the article is specified. This name is used for display in the Tipos
Catalogue.

Hint:

If a country-specific or branch-specific block without an article number should be available in the Tipos
Catalogue in different views, then the article number must be replaced by an arbitrary number when
naming. This number has to be identically for the different block views.

VIEWCODE
Following viewcodes can be used:
(They control in which of the six available fields the respective block is displayed in the Tipos
Catalogue)

section view right T

back view A
top view D
section view left S
front view R
bottom view U

The view type is based on the installation position in regular use.

Hierarchy level
In DokaCAD there are different levels of hierarchy, which have to be applied:
z Master level (z.B.: DOKA@820000001@Eurex 100 plus 290 a@_Neutral@_Neutral@en-
GB.dwg)
z Language-specific level (z.B.: DOKA@820000001@Eurex 100 plus 290
a@_Neutral@_Neutral@en-GB.dwg)
z CountryA-specific level (z.B.: DOK@820000001@Eurex 100 plus 290 a@GB@_Neutral@en-
GB.dwg)
z Branch-specific level (z.B.: DOKA@820000001@Eurex 100 plus 290 a@GB@550@en-
GB.dwg)

Depending on the hierarchy level in which a block is saved, and whether or not it is language-
dependent, the segments for country, branch and language are completed with the relevant specific
codes or will be assigned with the placeholder "_Neutral".

COUNTRY
Here, the country code is written e.g.: GB for Great Britain, if the article block is not assigned to
a specific country, the place holder "_Neutral" is used instead.

BRANCH
Here, the branch number is written e.g.: 550 for branch Maidstone; if the article block is not
assigned to a specific branch, the place holder "_Neutral" is used instead.

LANGUAGE

http://desweb.uag.corp/DES-BB-en_V8/tipos_catalogue/ca0109/ca0109c/ca0109c_en-... 8/16/2017
Article blocks Page 8 of 8

Here, the language code is written e.g.: en-GB for british english. The language is important if
the block should be available in different languages.

Note:

For languages which are used in several countries in different forms, the language abbreviation
is written with country code & language (e.g. en-GB for British English and en-US for American
English).
For all other languages the abbreviation of the relevant language is enough (e.g. DA for
danmark)

Example:
A global, language-independent Doka block would be thus named as follows:
DOKA@%Article number%@%Article designation%%Blank%%Viewcode%
@_Neutral@_Neutral@_Neutral.dwg

Caution:
Apart from the separator "@" no special characters may be used in the file name (instead of a
comma (,) a dot (.) should be used).
