Type CG.CR.. cable glands are designed for non-armoured cables and are comprised of a male body, lower sealing ring, pressure ring and cap. When the cap is screwed onto the male body, the pressure ring comprises the lower sealing ring onto the outer sheath of the cable and realizes the clamp. ‘Type CG.AR2.. eable glands are designed for steel wire armour or shielded cables and are comprised of a male body, lower sealing ring, grounding eone, swivel braid retainer, middle body, upper sealing ring and cap. ‘When the middle body is screwed onto the male body the cable wire armour is clamped between the swivel braid retainer and the grounding cone and the lower sealing ring is compressed onto the inner sheath of the cable. Sealing of the eable outer sheath is facilitated by the upper sealing ring which is compressed onto the outer sheath when the cap is screwed onto the middle body. ‘Type CG.AR.. eable glands are designed for steel wire armour or shielded cables and are comprised of a male body, lower sealing ring, grounding cone, swivel braid retainer, middle body, upper sealing ring and cap. ‘When the middle body is screwed onto the male body the cable wire armour is clamped between the swivel braid retainer and the grounding cone and the lower sealing ring is compressed onto the inner sheath of the cable, Sealing of the cable outer sheath is facilitated by the upper sealing ring which is compressed onto the outer sheath when the cap is screwed onto the middle body. ‘The cable glands are suitable for inserting circular cables into Ex-d enclosures having threaded entries and Ex-e or Ex-tb enclosures having either threaded or plane entries. Attachment of the glands to an enclosure is by means of the male threaded portion on the male body. An elastomeric inner sealing ring is used in each gland type to facilitate sealing between the cable and the gland body and to clamp the cable ta prevent pulling oF twisting forces being transmitted to the conductor connections. Ingress protection of 1P66/68 (50 m for 30 min. is maintained when the glands are installed in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. The cable glands should be also used for intrinsically safe circuits Ex-i, In this case, these cable glands should have a part painted light blue. ‘The inner sealing rings can be made of Chloroprene or Silicon rubber and the operating temperature ranges depend on the sealing manufacturing materials, For ype CG.AR2.. and CG.CR.. operating temperature ranges are: ‘+ from -40°C up to +100°C with sealing rings made of Chloroprene; ‘from -60°C up to +130°C with sealing rings made of Silicon rubber For type CG.AR.. operating temperature ranges are: «from -40°C up to +80°C with seating rings made of Chloroprene: + from -60°C up to +100°C with sealing rings made of Silicon rubber. For type CG.AR2...and CG.CR.. the standard threads types are cylindrical ISO Metric 965/1 and 965/3 from MIGX1.5 up to M90xt.5 and tapered threads types NPT ANSVASME Bl.20.l from 3/8” up to 3”. For type CG.AR.. the standard threads types are cylindrical ISO Metric 965/1 and 965/3 from MI6x1.5 up to ‘M63x1.5 and tapered threads types NPT ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 from 3/8” up to 2”. Alternative available cylindrical threads are GAS UNI ISO 228/L, NPSM ANSIASME BI.20.{ and type PG DIN 40430, while tapered threads are GAS UNI ISO 7/1. Thread type PG DIN 40430 can be used for «execution only. To guarantee the IP 66/68 degree of protection the cable glands with cylindrical threads have a sealing ‘edge machined for fitting an elastomeric gasket, while for all other threads the IP 66/68 degree of protection is achieved with sealant put at least on two complete threads engaged of the threaded coupling. ‘The cable glands are generally made in nickel-plated Brass (CuZn39Pb3 EN 12164). The following alternative material can be supplied on demand: Stainless steel type AISI316, AISI304 or AISI303 In addition, the cable glands can be supplied with an anti-tearing nut, only if specifically required by the purchaser. “This certicate may only be reproduced in its entrety and without any change, schedule included, Page 2/7 Prot.
