Subject : Compensation cost for “Budumaga Senesuwa” Temple damage due to lightning strike at Kalutara
North site

Please be good enough to grant approval for the Compensation cost.

Project There were a series of complaints about lightning issues from neighbors of the Kalutara North site
background and police inquires time to time. Few years ago; there was a court case against HTLL for Lightning
issue and both parties were settled, with some conditions. Since then; Villagers & monks of
Budumaga Senesuwa Temple had made several complaints to the police about the burning
electrical appliances due to lightning. Our Regional officers checked all the burned electrical items
and they presented the photos of damaged electrical goods and the details of each item. We had
compensated the cost for all villagers but Meegamuwa Susara Thero does not accept cash or
cheques as the electrical goods were donated by the villagers.

Details of burned electrical items

1) T.V-01 (TCL -14”)
2) Computer Monitor -01(HP)
3) D.V.R -01 (AVTECH)
4) CCTV Camera-04
5) CFL Bulb-02

Therefore, I recommend to pay the total Rs.59, 450/- which is the value for the damaged electrical
appliances and give approval for purchase these items.
