______________________________________________________________________________

INSTRUCTIONS TO LEARNERS

1. The oral presentation requires a learner to interact creatively and accordingly to a given /
assigned role or scenario before the presentation started.

2. This task is conducted almost spontaneously in order to give real practice to learners as the
scenarios might happen unexpectedly in their working environment.

3. The task should be assessed individually in five to seven-minute session.

4. The oral presentation should be conducted in class during tutorial session.

5. At the appointed date and time, an individual learner will be invited to enter the tutorial
room. The other learners will have to wait patiently for their turn outside of the tutorial
room.

6. The learner will proceed to sit in front of the tutor (facing the tutor).

7. Learner will find a piece of paper on the table in front of him / her which details the scenario
and the specific assigned role of the learner will play.
8. The learner will then have two minutes to prepare silently before he / she is beginning to
present his/her ideas or facts with the tutor.

9. Learner is not allowed to write on the question paper nor remove it from the table.

10. To score high marks, the learner should get into his/her assigned role and to speak
convincingly, confidently and accordingly using appropriate strategies for effective
communication.

11. A timer will be used to time the session. When the time is out, the tutor will signal to stop
and the learner will then exit the tutorial room.

12. The tutor will award marks to the learner and enter his/her learners’ marks in OMES. The
next learner will then be invited to enter the tutorial room for his/her oral presentation
session.
