Unit 7.

1 DB: Staying Motivated

The process of writing has not been easy; however, I have taken the challenges with positive
attitude and I have made it to the end. The process involved sacrifices and devotion towards my
studies. The fact that I had to deal with my studies and personal work concurrently made it a
little difficult. But I relied upon different strategies in dealing with the challenges. The strategies
that I utilized included time management, working on the assignment early and reading through
posts by other students and the instructors.
The first strategy that I employed was time management. When one has a number of tasks to
complete it is expected that they should have proper way of managing their time. It helps in
avoiding repetition and wasting much time in one area than another. The tasks that I was
expected to engage in compete in terms of time allocation. Proper schedule with time frame
helped in making sure that each item on my to do list was completed (Lannon, 2007). I consider
my ability to manage time as the most important reason behind my ability to complete the
writing process.
The second strategy that I employed is beginning on the assignments early enough. When work
is left unattended to the last minute there is high chance that it will pose a challenge. Limited
time to work with means that details of the assignment will not be adhered to (Yao, 2011).
Commencing work at an early stage helped me to work without haste and I took into
consideration different parts of the instructions. The first day was spent working on the
introduction and abstract only.
Lastly, I engaged in reading the work of other students and the instructor. This strategy helped
me to sharpen my understanding of the concepts and how they are applicable on my writing.
