NARRATORS 1 AND 2 We are very excited!

NARRATOR 1 and 2 This is the story of the first Christmas!

NARRATOR 1 Many years ago, Mary and Joseph had to go to

Bethlehem.

NARRATOR 2 It was a long way from their home.

MARY AND JOSEPH ENTER

NARRATOR 1 They were very tired because they travelled long

way by donkey.

THE SONG DONKEY PLODDING

NARRATOR 2 The sky was filled with hundreds of stars.

STARS, SHEPHERDS, SHEEP, LAMBS, ETC. ENTER

SONG TWINKLING STARS

NARRATOR 1 Suddenly the sky filled with light

NARRATOR 2 All the shepherds stared in amazement.

THE SONG SKIP, SKIP, SKIPPITY HOP

NARRATOR 1 The light in the sky came from beautiful angels.

NARRATOR 2 When Mary and Joseph reached Bethlehem it was very
busy.

MARY I am very tired!

JOSEPH I will find a room to stay.

JOSEPH KNOCKS ON A DOOR OF AN INN

AN INNKEEPER TURNS UP.

INNKEEPER Who’s that?

JOSEPH We’d like to stay the night, please.

INNKEEPER We’ve got no room!

THE SONG WE’VE GOT NO ROOM

INNKEEPER Go to the stable, round the back.

NARRATOR 1 So, Marry and Joseph went to the stable.

NARRATOR 2 Later that night Baby Jesus was born.

NARRATOR 1 Mary rocked him gently and sang to him

NARRATOR 1 The animals in the stable were very happy!

THE SONG DANCING ABOUT IN THE STRAW

NARRATOR 2 Meanwile, far away, some WISE MEN saw a special
star.

WISE MEN POINT TO BETHLEHEM STAR

WISE MAN 1 Look at that star!

WISE MAN 2 It’s big and bright!

WISE MAN 3 This star will lead us to the newborn King!

NARRATOR 1 So the Wise Men got on the camels and followed the
star to Bethlehem.

THE SONG THREE KINGS FROM THE EAST

NARRATOR 2 The Wise Men gave the gifts to Jesus.

WISE MEN GIVE FIGTS AND KNEEL.

NARRATOR 1 Everyone knew Jesus was a very special baby.

NARRATOR 2 Everybody was happy!
