RECOMMENATION- ILB WITH SMB PROCESS

We propose,

a. Piggable header for raw material transferring with Pig Launching system.
b. Blending kettle with heating arrangement and mixing achieved by side entry agitator.
c. Separate dedicated line to product transfer.
d. Batch drum filling system with inline drums rinsing and flushing.

Process Flow,

1. Oil base stocks will be received in RM tank via pigged line from refinery, which will
charge through SMB.
2. Receiving RM from refinery at 20 to 100 T per hr. @ 50 to 65 deg C, where refinery pumping
Temp 80 deg C
3 Raw material tanks for Bitumen of 200 MT capacity with suction heater , heating coils and
side entry agitation to avoid Stratification
4. Provision of ILB for inline mixing and also N2 flushing arrngt for product changeover.
5 Before charging to SMB, mini bulk additive will premix with base oil in premix tank .
6. All Additives handling - through MB tanks - dosing through Single screw pump & MFM.
7. Premix tank having heating coil, agitator for mixing and homogeneity.
8 Piggable header for raw material transferring with Pig Launching system with accurate
dosing arrangement to ensure complete batch transfer in 120 min.
9. Then it transfer to blending kettle where agitation provided by side entry agitator &
recirculation (Mixing achieved with the help of agitator within 2 hrs).
10. Provision for cooling - before dosing 121502 (low flash additive) with Vent condenser &
Scrubber - to prevent escape of Vapors.
11. RM taken into blender which having limpet coils for oil heating and side entry agitator .
12. Blending to be done in kettle to temp 60 deg C by using limpet. The same tank will be use
for blending & dispatch.
13. Product transfer to drum only by dedicated separate lines from blenders using triple screw
pump.
14. Provision for Slop tank for product change over. Used oil from other process such as
Waste oil - from OWS / Used oil recycling plant
15.Online Sampling facility provided for blenders.
16.Provision of one leg on SMB for Slop ,so that it can also used for batch.
17. 2 head Drum filler with Palletizer arrgt with Rinsing /Flushing arrgt.
