Sub: Providing 30 mm dia MS raising main from Jack well to Bhageemane –

Administrative approval –reg.,

The proposal has been reviewed and the following observations are made.,

1. 5% area weightage is considered in the rate analysis for pipes and specials.
This is not applicable as per note No. 1 of KUWSDB SR 2018-19.
2. KPWD SR 2018-19 shall be used.
3. Spacing between pedestals shall be increased to 6m.
4. If there are horizontal and vertical bends, anchor blocks shall be provided.
5. At road crossings provide NP3 pipe of size 500mm instead of box culvert.
6. Size of the pedestal shall be 600X200X800 depth. (300mm above ground
level and remaining below ground level)
7. Pipe shall not be embedded in concrete. It shall be placed on pedestal by
using inverted U clamp.
8. DI pipes (350 dia, 6mm thick, K8 class) shall be used instead of MS pipes as
it is more advantageous. The advantages are as listed below,
a) For water main pipe size less than 600mm, DI is normally used because
internal welding for steel pipes below 600mm is difficult.
b) DI pipes requires only simple jointing details which allows for a faster rate
of construction.
c) Cost of DI pipes is lesser compared to MS pipes.
