Sensory images are mental pictures which are

created by words that describe something that we
see, hear, touch, smell and taste. In other words, it
is our sense of sight, sense of touch, sense of smell,
sense of taste, and sense of hearing.
It’s composed of descriptive language that can
function as a way for the reader to better imagine
the world of the piece of literature and also add
symbolism to the work.
