Adding a workflow to the Home

Screen
Workflow has the ability to take one of your workflows and add it to the iOS
home screen as a tappable icon, much like creating your own launchable app.

Not only can you create a one-tap button to run the workflow right next to
your other apps, but you can group them into Folders and organize them for
quicker access. Plus, workflows run from the Home Screen show up in
multitasking, so you can navigate back to the workflow to start running it
once again.
In order to add a workflow to your Home Screen, tap the settings icon in the
upper right corner of the workflow composer (just underneath done).
Below the Name and Icon fields, you’ll see a “Add to Home Screen” option.
Tap it and Safari will open with the follow instructions:

1. Tap on the bottom of the screen.

2. Tap “Add to Home Screen”.
3. Tap “Add.”
Once you’ve activated the Share sheet and hit “Add to Home Screen”, you’ll
be presented with a screen labelled “Add to Home” where you can edit the
title before hitting “Add”. Make sure to shorten the title to one or two words,
as iOS will truncate anything longer once it’s viewable on the Home Screen.

Note
You can also find an Add to Home Screen button when you’re sharing
from the workflow composer by tapping the share button in the top left
corner.

Once you’ve added the workflow to your home screen, the icon will be placed
in the next open spot after your apps.

When you tap the icon, Workflow will open and run the corresponding
workflow.

Pro Tip

Add to Home Screen is convenient to have alongside your other apps, but
generally the Today Widget is even faster for launching workflows quickly.

Workflow also has the ability to set a custom icon, as opposed to using the
built-in glyphs available. This custom icon will be used when the workflow
has been added as a Home Screen icon.

To set up a custom Home Screen icon, tap the tap the settings icon in the
upper right corner of the workflow composer (just underneath done). Tap
“Icon”, then the “Home Screen” option.
From here, you’ll be able to add a custom image that will show up inside the
Home Screen icon. You have the option to take a photo from select one from
your Photo Library.
Once you add the workflow to your Home Screen, the normal color and glyph
will be replaced by your custom image.

Custom icons are great for workflows relating to Contacts like “Call Mom”.
