[edit] Plot

Miley, also known by her family as Momay, was the daughter of the owners of a carnival named
"La Vida Funland". Her father had died from a brain tumor, causing devastation to her family.
Her mother Shirley had to remain independent for the children. As Shirley manages the carnival
she encountered some problems such as accidents in which one of her employees died. It was
then believed that the husband of the employees went into their house, causing arson which
apparently have accidentally killed the girl. The husband remained pleading not guilty for the
accident. After Momay's death, Shirley's depression managed to get the better of her, as she
disappears from thin air leaving Justin into the care of Hillary, Momay and Justin's aunt who had
a fixation with taking over the La Vida Funland business.

As Momay passed into purgatory, she pleaded to return to earth, to wrap up all the lose ends in
her life. Still in a form and a mind of a child, she returns to their old home, now old and in a state
of decay, where she met a cowardly little boy named Andrew. They became best friends as
Andrew tries to help Momay find her family.

Magkaribal (lit. Rivals) is a Philippine primetime drama about love, fashion, and family which
began on June 28, 2010 on ABS-CBN.[1][2][3][4] The show was launched as part of the half-term
show line-up by ABS-CBN as a part of its celebration for the 60th Anniversary of Philippine
Soap Opera.[5]

The series is the story of two women in the fashion world who discover they are sisters.[6][7][8][9][10]

[edit] Synopsis
A new and budding fashion designer named Gelai Agustin (Bea Alonzo) is Victoria Valera's
(Gretchen Barretto) long lost sister. Anna/Victoria and Angela/Gelai were orphaned at a young
age, separated by a series of events and brought together again. Angela was adopted by a simple
couple and her adoptive father re-named her "Gelai". Anna was also adopted by a wealthy
business man and was re-named Victoria. The story also follows Mixed Martial Arts Champion,
Louie (Derek Ramsay) who discovers that Gelai is really Angela, the girl he met when they were
both kidnapped as children.
Angela and Anna's mother, Stella, was a seamstress while their father, Manuel, went to Milan to
work. While in Milan, Manuel met and fell in love with a wealthy model and a fashion designer
named Vera Cruz. When Manuel went back to the Philippines, Stella got very angry at him
because he never replied to her letters. Manuel explained the situation and Stella forgave him.
Soon, Manuel decided to leave his wife and children to live with Vera. Later, Vera and Manuel
adopt a girl named Chloe after Vera has a miscarriage that leaves her unable to have children.
She blames her circumstances on Anna/Victoria.

Angela and Anna witnessed Manuel and Vera hugging; this led to a confrontation between Anna
and Vera where Vera pushed and injured Anna. In tears, Anna returned home and showed her
wounded arm to her mother and later, Stella went to Vera's house to confront her but Vera
avoided her. As Vera drove away, Stella was accidentally hit and killed by an oncoming vehicle;
Anna was there to witnessed the tragedy unfold.

Orphaned and on the run from people trying to place them into an orphanage, Angela and Anna
lived on streets. Angela soon gets sick from eating garbage and was rushed to the hospital by her
older sister, Anna. To earn money, the 15-year-old Anna worked as a prostitute. One day, she
returned to the hospital only to see that it was on fire, with her sister nowhere to be found and
most likely dead. As it turns out, Angela was actually kidnapped by men who made children
work as beggars on the streets. This is where Angela became friends with a little boy, "Dos" (the
future Louie), who was also a captive. Devastated and alone, Anna was adopted by Ronaldo
Valera and was sent abroad.

Years later, Angela as Gelai Agustin, becomes a poor designer that continues both her and her
sister's dreams of becoming top Philippine designers. Anna who is now Victoria Valera becomes
an international model and designer who gets revenge on Vera Cruz by stealing her place as the
top Philippine designer and trying to take over Vera's company; all in the name of keeping her
and her sister's dreams alive.

[edit] Plot
Johnny and Jenny grew up together as siblings under the care of their parents Robert and
Katherine. Johnny loves his sister very much and is very protective of her. Their lives were
discrupted when they found out that there was a case of baby switching in the hospital on the day
that Jenny was born. They discovered that the real daughter was Shirley, the poor, mean and
resentful classmate of Jenny. The lives of Jenny and Shirley are dramatically reversed in an
instant. Jenny wants to stay but Shirley keeps pressuring her to leave. The weak-willed Jenny
decides to run away and stay with her hostile biological mother Suzy and her good-for-nothing
brother Jojo. Meanwhile, Johnny and his family opt to live abroad.

Years later, Jenny grows up to be a simple, beautiful and kind-hearted young lady. She works as
a chambermaid in a hotel resort. She meets a conceited and naughty hotel owner named Andrew
who gets smitten by Jenny's charm and beauty. Andrew does everything to get Jenny's attention.
He soon realizes that Jenny is slowly changing him for the better. The guy proudly tells his best
friend that he has found the woman he truly loves.

It turns out that Johnny is the best friend of Andrew. Johnny returns from abroad to look for his
beloved sister and after many years of separation, the "siblings" reunite. As Johnny and Jenny get

she is dating Andrew. Johnny hides his emotions as he is preparing to be married to his long-time

In November 2009, GMA Network formally announced that they have acquired the adaptation
rights of the Korean drama Autumn in My Heart, with Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera in
the lead roles. In December 2009, director Joyce E. Bernal was hired to helm the project. A
teaser trailer was shown during the 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival, attached to GMA Films'
Ang Panday.[4]

Ryan Agoncillo, Paulo Avelino and Hero Angeles[5] were all considered to take on the second
lead male role before Dennis Trillo was eventually cast.[6] Filming started in April 2010,
targeting for a June release date.[7] The production also encountered an extensive delays causing
Bernal to leave production and eventually replaced by Mac Alejandre; actress Gina Alajar left to
pursue another role, whilst actor Christopher de Leon chose to focus on his political career in the
meanwhile - both were replaced by Kuh Ledesma and Tirso Cruz III, respectively.[8]
