I. INTRODUCTION
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, or North Korea,
is one of the world’s last hard-line communist nations. Since 1948, North Korea has been extremely hostile towards western nations, especially the United States, and has isolated itself from most of the world. Despite their current situation with other countries, North Korea’s literature shouldn’t be overlooked. Ranging from mythological stories to unique fictional stories, North Korea is full of rich literatures just waiting to be uncovered.

CONTRIBUTION North Korea is truly a fearsome country, but this doesn’t mean we should ignore the beauty in it. North Korea is full of amazing literature that we should appreciate more. Their country is very autonomous and independent which makes their stories difficult to reach. But, we shouldn’t forget that their literature not only adds diversity to the entire body of literature in the world, it also proves that North Korea is capable of creating beautiful forms of literature that can be entertaining, informative and mind-opening for its readers.
