ROLE OF A DRILLING ENGINEER FOR

A DRILLING PROJECT

1. Provides Well Casing Design:

On the basis of geological and geophysical information such as shale


formation top, crossing of faults, formation pressure etc. a drilling engineer
prepares a well casing program which specifies the type, size and length of
casing required for the well.

2. Provides Well Head Requirements:

Depending on maximum formation pressure advised by production engineer


and casing program drilling engineer selects the appropriate size of well
head configuration to meet the requirements.

3. Provides Basic Mud Program

4. Provides Bit Program

5. Provides Cementing Program


6. Drilling AFE:
