PIPING REQUIREMENTS Pumps shall be located as close as possible to the source of suction in order to minimize pressure drop in the system while satisfying piping flexibility requirements and nozzle load allowable. Suitable isolation valves, check valves and pressure protection valves shall be provided for pumps. All auxiliary piping carrying external services shall terminate with block valves at the edge of the baseplate and shall be designed to permit ready disconnection of pipework from the pump. Valves shall be provided on all vent and drain connections, PUMP ~ TYPE SELECTION AND BASIC DESIGN REQUIREMENTS PTS 12.1101 December 2015 Page 23 of 25 6.0 BIBLIOGRAPHY In this PTS, reference is made to the following Standards/Publications.
