Article 35A of the

INDIAN CONSTITUTION
ARTICE 35A (1954) of the INDIAN CONSTITION was incorporated in the Indian constitution
through a constitutional amendment even much before the constitution of Jammu & Kashmir
came into existence (1956).
The Article allows the state of Jammu & Kashmir to grant special privileges and rights to
permanent resident but denies rights to others who came to have a genuine claims.
It debars non-residents of J&K From buying land or property or getting a government job or
voting in Assembly elections in Jammu & Kashmir.
It’s a temporary provisionwhich grants special autonomous status to J&K . under XXI
