Essay: FCE.

Money
Some people say you don't need much money to be happy. What do you think?

Happiness can be reached from/through/by numerous manners, but there is one of them which is
commonly discussed: money.

First of all, it is widely known that money makes our daily life easier, due to the fact that it allows us to
acquire a large number and variety of consumption goods and services. For instance, we can buy different
kinds of food, fashion clothes, we can hire a clean assistant to have our home cleaned or we can book an
expensive, well-furnished room of a holiday resort.

In addition to this, spending money on latest technologies is considerably increasing over the last years.
People are buying the newest smartphones or laptops released into the market, which obviously implies an
enormous reduction on its monthly budget. People are always bothered whether their friends or even
someone completely unknown have a positive opinion about them, which certainly can explain why people
often buy completely useless products. As we known, having good reputation can increase our well-being.

However, there are many cases in which not only rich/wealthy people are not happier than others with far
less economic resources, but are even much more sad that they were before having such a good economic
situation. People might easily forget about their family and friends since they have an endless quantity of
money to spend.

To sum up, I admit that money can contribute to a major improvement in our mood, but I strongly believe
that other factors such as our daily social relations have a quite more effect on it
