Problem 4 – Statistics and Probability – Probability

Spencer and Gerald throw two dice each. If Gerald gets a sum of 4, What is the probability that
Spencer will get less?

Solution:

Number of ways getting a sum of less than 4: (1,1) (2,1) (1,2) = 3 ways
Total number of ways: 6 x 6 = 36 ways
