CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

1. BACKGROUND
In some countries these plants are classified as narcotics, although it is not proven that the
user is addicted, in contrast to illegal drugs that are based on chemicals and damage brain cells,
which are very clearly dangerous to humanity. Among cannabis users, a variety of effects are
produced, especially excessive euphoria (joy), as well as a loss of concentration for thinking
among certain users.
Negative effect in general is that if you have sucked then the user will be lazy and the
brain will be slow in thinking. However, this is still a controversy, because it is not fully agreed
upon by certain groups that support medical marijuana and marijuana in general. In addition to
being claimed as a pain reliever, and a treatment for certain diseases (including cancer), there are
also many who claim that there is a surge in creativity in thinking and in creating works
(especially for artists and musicians.
Based on recent research, this (spike in creativity), is also influenced by the type of
cannabis used. One type of cannabis that is considered to help creativity is the result of modern
crosses "Cannabis indica" originating from India with "Cannabis sativa" from the West, where
this type of cross Marijuana is the type that grows in Indonesia.
The resulting effects also vary for each individual, where in certain groups there are those
who feel the effect that makes them lazy, while there are groups that become active, especially in
creative thinking (not physically active as the effect produced by Methamphetamine). Marijuana,
until this moment, has never been proven to be a cause of death or addiction. In fact, in the past it
was considered as an extraordinary plant, where almost all the elements that existed in it could
be used for various purposes. This is very contradictory and different from the effects of illegal
drugs and alcohol, which causes users to become addicted to being physically abused, and even
commit violence or fraud (criminal acts) to obtain these man-made chemical drugs.

CHAPTER II
DRUGS

1. UNDERSTANDING DRUGS
Narcotics and Drug Narcotics stands for Narcotics and dangerous drugs. Drug stands for
Psychotropic Alcohol Narcotics and other Addictive Substances. Nicotic etymologically comes
from Greek which means 'kelenger', refers to something that can make someone unconscious
(fly), whereas in English narcotic is more directed to drugs that make users addicted.
Narcotics are pharmacologically opioids, but according to Law No. 22, 1997 narcotics are
substances or drugs derived from plants or non-plants, both synthetic and semi-synthetic which
can cause a decrease or change in consciousness, loss of taste, reduce to eliminate pain, and can
cause dependency. Over time the existence of drugs is not only as a cure but it is destructive.
Initially drugs were still used occasionally in small doses and of course the impact was not very
significant. But the changing times and the mobility of life make drugs a part of lifestyle, from
what was just a medical device, drugs are now well-known as world gods, pain relievers.
Alcohol is a drink containing ethanol which is processed from agricultural products
containing carbohydrates by fermentation and distillation or fermentation without distillation,
either by giving treatment in advance or not, adding other ingredients or not, or being processed
in a way
mix concentrate with ethanol or by diluting a drink containing ethanol.
What is meant by narcotics include:
Opiates: heroin, morphine, medicine, and others. Cannabis: cannabis, hashish.
The Koka group: cocaine, crack.
Psychotropic substances are substances or drugs both natural and synthetic not narcotics, which
have psychoactive properties through selective influences on the central nervous system that
cause specific changes in mental activity and behavior. Other Addictive Substances are other
ingredients not narcotics or psychotropic substances whose use can cause dependence.
Psychotropic according to Law No. 5 of 1997 includes ectasy, methamphetamine, LSD,
sedatives / sleeping pills, anti-depressants and anti-psychosis drugs. Psychotropic substances that
are often misused (according to WHO 1992) are:
1. Alcohol: All alcoholic drinks that contain ethanol (ethyl alcohol).
2. Opioids: heroin, morphine, pethidine, opium.
3. Kanabinoida: Cannabis, hashish.
4. Sedativa / hypnotics: sedatives / sleeping pills.
5. Cocaine: coca leaf, cocaine powder, crack.
Other stimulants, including caffeine, ectasy, and methamphetamine. Hallucinogenic,
LSD, mushroom, mescalin.
Tobacco (containing nicotine). Volatile solvents such as acetone and glue. Multiple
(combination) and others, for example a combination of heroin and crystal meth, alcohol and
sleeping pills. Other addictive substances include inhalants (acetone, paint thinner, glue, nicotine,
caffeine).

2. SPREAD
Until now, the spread of drugs is almost unavoidable. Given that almost all the world's
population can easily get drugs from unscrupulous elements. For example, drug dealers who like
to search for prey in schools, discotheques, brothels and genk gatherings. Of course this can
make parents, mass organizations, the government worried about the spread of drugs that are so
voluntary. Drug eradication efforts have often been done, but there is still little possibility to
avoid drugs from among adolescents and adults, even many elementary and junior high school-
aged children are involved in drugs. Until now the most effective effort to prevent drug abuse in
children is from family education. Parents are expected to be able to supervise and educate their
children to stay away from drugs.

3. DRUG EFFECTS
Hallucinogens, the effects of drugs can result when consumed in certain doses can cause
a person to hallucinate by seeing a thing / object that is actually not there / not real for example
cocaine & LSD
Stimulation, the effects of drugs that can cause the work of organs such as the heart and
brain work faster than normal work, resulting in a person more powerful for a while, and tends to
make a user more happy and happy for a while
4functional activities of the body, so that users feel calm can even make users sleep and
unconscious. For example putaw.
Addictive, someone who has consumed drugs will usually want and want more because certain
substances in drugs cause a person tends to be passive, because indirectly drugs decide nerves in
the brain, for example marijuana, heroin, putaw. If it takes too long and has been addicted to
drugs then gradually the organs in the body will be damaged and if it has exceeded the dose then
the user will overdose and eventually death.
Psilocin, a hallucinogenic drug obtained from the fungus (Psilocybe mexicana). Effects such as
pupillary dilation, anxiety or turmoil, euphoria, open and visual closed eyes (common at high
doses), synesthesia (eg hearing seeing colors and sounds), increased body temperature,
headaches, sweating and chills, and nausea .
methamphetamine, is a psychostimulance and sympathomimetic drug. Marketed for severe cases
of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Physical effects can include anorexia, hyperactivity,
dilated pupils, redness, anxiety, dry mouth, headaches, tachycardia, bradycardia, tachypnea,
hypertension, hypotension, hyperthermia, diaphoresis, diarrhea, constipation, blurred vision,
dizziness, headache, tachycardia, bradycardia, tachypnea, hypertension, hypotension,
hyperthermia, diaphoresis, diarrhea, constipation, blurred vision, dizziness, headache,
tachycardia, bradycardia, tachypnea, hypertension, hypotension, hyperthermia, diaphoresis,
diarrhea, constipation, blurred vision, dizziness, headache, tachycardia, bradycardia, tachypnea,
hypertension, hypotension, hyperthermia, diaphoresis, diarrhea, constipation, blurred vision,
dizziness, dizziness, twitching, insomnia, tingling, tingling palpitations, arrhythmias, zits, pale,
convulsions, heart attacks, strokes, and death can occur

4. TYPES OF DRUGS
As for the types of drugs, namely:
a. Heroin
Heroin is a 3.6-diacetyl derivative of morphine (that's why the name is diethylmorphine) and is
synthesized from it through acetylation. White crystalline form is commonly the hydrochloride
salt, diamorphine hydrochloride. Heroin can be addictive. Heroin or diamorphine (INN) is a type
of alkaloid opioid.
b. Marijuana
Cannabis (Cannabis sativa syn. Cannabis indica) is a plant producing fiber, but is better
known for its narcotic content, tetrahydrokanabinol (THC, tetra-hydro-cannabinol) which can
cause the wearer to experience euphoria (prolonged pleasure without cause).
Cannabis became a cultural symbol of hippies that was once popular in the United States.
This is usually symbolized by the typical shape of cannabis leaves. In addition, marijuana and
opium are also touted as a symbol of resistance to the current of globalism that the capitalist state
has forced on developing countries. In India, some Sadhus who worship the god Shiva use
cannabis derivative products to perform worship rituals by smoking Hashish through a Chilam /
Chillum pipe, and by drinking Bhang.
c. Narcotics
Narcotics are substances or drugs that come from plants or not plants, both synthetic and
semi-synthetic, which cause an effect on their usage. The influence is in the form of anesthesia,
loss of pain, excitement, hallucinations or the appearance of delusions that cause dependence
effects on the wearer.
5. FACTORS OF DRUG ABUSE
Drug abuse has several factors, namely:
1. Social environment
• Motive for curiosity: in adolescence, a person usually has a curiosity and then wants to try it.
for example by knowing narcotics, psykotropika or liquor or other dangerous substances.
• Opportunities: because parents are busy with their activities, it may also be due to a lack of
family affection or the result of a broken home.
• Facilities and infrastructure: because excessive parents provide excessive facilities and money,
it is a trigger to abuse the money to buy narcotics to satisfy their curiosity.

2. Personality
• Low self-esteem: feelings of inferiority in relationships in the community or in the school
environment, work, etc., they overcome these problems by abusing narcotics, psykotropika or
liquor that is done to cover up their shortcomings so that they get what they want such as being
more active and brave
• Emotional and mental: At this time they usually want to be free from all the rules of their
parents. And finally as a place of escape that is by using narcotics, psychotropic drugs and other
liquor. Mental weakness of a person will be more easily influenced by negative actions that
ultimately lead to the use of narcotics, psychotropic substances and other intoxicants.

6. BENEFITS OF DRUGS
Marijuana plants have been known to humans for a long time and are used as material for
making pockets because the fibers they produce are strong. Marijuana seeds are also used as a
source of oil.
However, because marijuana is also known as a source of narcotics and this use has more
economic value, people plant more for this and are abused in many places.
In some countries planting cannabis is completely prohibited. In some other countries, planting
cannabis is permitted for the benefit of fiber utilization. The condition is that the varieties planted
must contain very low or no narcotics ingredients.
Before there was a strict ban on cannabis cultivation, in Aceh cannabis leaves were a
vegetable component and were commonly served.
For users, dried cannabis leaves are burnt and smoked like cigarettes, and can also be smoked
with a special tool called the bong savings.
This plant can be found in almost every tropical country. Even some cold countries have started
to cultivate them in greenhouses.
Morphine is a very strong analgesic alkaloid and is the main active agent found in opium.
Morphine works directly on the central nervous system to eliminate pain. Morphine side effects
include decreased consciousness, euphoria, drowsiness, lethargy, and blurred vision. Morphine
also reduces hunger, stimulates coughing, and causes constipation. Morphine causes high
dependence compared to other substances. Morphine patient also reported to suffer from
insomnia and nightmares. The word "morphine" comes from Morpheus, the dream god in Greek
mythology.
Cocaine is a synthetic compound that triggers cell metabolism very quickly. Cocaine is
an alkaloid obtained from the Erythroxylon coca plant, which originated in South America,
where the leaves of this plant are usually chewed by local residents to get a "stimulant effect".
Today Cocaine is still used as a local anesthetic, especially for eye, nose and throat surgery,
because its vasoconstrictive effects also help. Cocaine is classified as a narcotics, along with
morphine and heroin because of its addictive effect.
CHAPTER III
COVER

1. CONCLUSION
Drugs are illegal drugs which if consumed cause addiction and if it is too long and
already addicted to drugs then gradually the organs in the body will be damaged and if it has
exceeded the dose then the user will overdose and eventually death.
There are also various types of drugs such as: heroin, cannabis, putaw, cocaine,
methamphetamine, and alcohol are included in the drug group.
The benefits are felt only for a moment. But there are obviously a lot of mudhorot. Many
organs of the body become damaged. palagi when using drugs. The mistakes during operation
(because of an incident) will no longer be able to anesthetize its users. To be sure the cost to be
able to consume illicit goods, is very expensive. One can go to jail if arrested by the authorities.

2. SUGGESTIONS
It is expected that after the authors compile this paper the public is aware of the dangers
of consuming drugs and abusing drugs.
Because if one person already uses drugs and is addicted, that person will experience heart
palpitations, vapors, excessive tears, excessive sweating, experience headaches, experience joint
pain.
