If three resistors of values 5 Ω, 10 Ω and 30 Ω are all connected in parallel to a


Potential Difference of 6v then, Calculate:
I. The amount of current passing through each resistor.
II. The total current in the circuit.
III. The total effective resistance of the circuit.
2. Two resistances when connected in parallel give resultant value of 2 Ω. When the
same resistances are connected in series, the resultant value becomes 9 Ω. Calculate
the value of each resistance.
3. A wire of resistance 5 Ω is bent in the form of a closed circle. What is the effective

9. A wire of length l and resistance R is stretched so that its length is doubled and area of
cross-section is halved. How will its (i) resistance change (ii) resistivity change?
10. For the given circuit:
i. Find current through 6 Ω resistor
ii. Potential difference across 12 Ω resistor
