Pressure and kinetic energy… Average Velocity and cross-sectional area

2. In Fluidised bed combustion boiler. Mainly used in power plants for separation of oil and
water and another side sea side to separate salt and water……. solid liquid seperation…….. .
they can be used for liquid-liquid separation, for liquid-liquid-solid separation or for liquid-
solid separation. They are equally as effective at separating liquid mixtures at the same time
as removing solids.
3. splashing system. Drip feed lubrication system. Here small quantities of oil are being
applied at regular intervals. Although it is usually used for machines with low loads and low
to moderate speeds hence generally applied as gravity-controlled drip system. But it can also
be combined with pump which changes oil flow depending on the load and speed of
machine running.
4. By useing high temperature greases, which is made by mixing
of Base oils, Thickeners and additives.

Base oils can be subdivided into mineral and synthetic

types. Mineral oils are the most widely used base oil
component, representing approximately 95 percent of the
greases manufactured. Synthetic esters and PAO (synthetic
hydrocarbons) are next, followed by silicones and a few
other exotic synthetic oils.
5. A torque converter is a type of fluid coupling which transfers rotational power from a driving
shaft to a driven shaft. Apart from power transmission torque converter can multiply torque
between the shafts, thus acting as equivalent to a reduction gear. This torque conversion is
done with the help of stator blades.
6. Their are many factors which is better if we use Unified Transmission, like:

1. Less work needed to handle.

2. More efficient.
3. Less power needed to run.
4. All can be controlled easily and together at one time.
5. We can check failure easily when some things not working.

But their are some disadvantages also, like:

1. If we want to stop one machine, all other will also stop. This problem will not be
encountered in individual transmission.
2. Can’t provide individual transmission to machine.

Overall, their are flaws also but using unified transmission is better than individual
transmission as it also cost effective. I hope that I made you understand.

7. Friction clutches and Fluid flywheel Fluid coupling and torque converter
Types of friction clutches: Cone clutch Single plate clutch Multi-plate cutch
Semi-centrifugal clutch Centrifugal clutch
8. Accumulator and regulator
9. The reason Can be:
1.due to improper setting gasket between two flanges.
2.design problem&manufacture failure.
3.lack of Alkylation paint in inner lining.
Metal Gaskets generally leak because of the constant exposure to high temperature
and high pressure. One of the main reason is the joint exceeding the capabilities of the
gasket.
10. Rather than having a big old coil… there is a circuit board with something like an old
solid state amplifier, called an insulated gate bipolar transistor or IGBT.
It takes AC current and rectifies it to DC and turns our regular 60Hz current and jacks
it up to 10kHz. This gives us much finer control over our weld parameters such as the
rise and fall of voltage as arc length increases and decreases… and they're small
enough to wear over your shoulder on a strap.
