When three-phase reciosure is desired the equipment will eonvart any single or ‘two-phase tripping into three-phase ‘ripping before initiating the reciosure. For echomos with two circuit breakers the raclosure of the second circuit breaker can be either simultaneous with the first circuit breaker or it can be: sequential. In the latter case the reclosure ff the second circuit breaker must raturally be a delayed three phese closure. Different operating cycles can be selected using the keypad on the rolay front-plate. DESCRIPTION - SCHEME ‘Scheme initiation enabling conditions An auto-reclose cycle is initiated by protection operation. Autoveciose of @ Specie ercut breskar is enabied provided that, immaiiately prior to the Protection operation: ~ the circult breaker is closed = tho Energy" Input from thet circuit breaker indicates sufficient stored eneray to perform an auto-eclose oycle ~ Suto-rectose for that cicult breaker isnotswitched out of service and is rot locked out Schome initiation SINGLE PHASE AUTO-RECLOSE LFAAIOT AND LFAAI02, For single phase auto-reclose, a phase-to- arth fault’on any ono phase il intiato Single phase tipping and euto-recose of the faulty phase only, A felt involving {wo ar more phases wll sul in three phase tipping. For this purpose the Scheme will convert any two pole tip of the clreut breaker into a three pale tp. Lraaioz Single phase auto-relosures can be (Ciither tthe simuttaneous or sequential type dopencing-on the programme Selected. Whenever simultaneous Feclosure is selected, both circult breakers ‘wil ip single phase end reciose Simultaneously after the single phase dead time, Whenever soquortia! reclosure is selected, the leader circuit brooker will vip single phase and reciose attor the single phase dead time but the follower circuit breaker wl vip thy and reclose after the selected follower Sircuit breeker delay time has elapsed. THREE PHASE AUTO-RECLOSE “Three phase auto-reclose can be initiated by single phase faults only, multi-phase faults only ar any fault pending on the Schome solectd and whetrer the auto- Feclosura Is fist or second shot In the 460 of felts which result in the tipping of one oF two poles of the circuit breaker, the relay will convert the single or two 30k trip into three pole trip before (Citing the phase reclosing LFAA102: auto-reclose of follower circuit breaker The follower circuit breaker wi automatically be switched to the auto- raclose programme originally selected for the leader circuit breaker f any one of the initiation enabling conditions for the leador circuit broakor is not satisfiod. In the sequential single phase or single and three phase auto-recios programme, one or two shot, the follower circuit breaker will be automatically switched to perform a single phase trip on schom initiation if any one of the above conditions exiets. Single phase reclosure of the follower circuit breaker will ocour at the endef the single phase dead time. t Many of the above conditions exist prior to initiation of a three phase auto- reclose, the follower elreuit breaker will trip three phase followed by reclosure at the end of the three phase dead time. Developing faults For single phase only auto-reclose programmes, the development of a fault ‘on toa previously unatfeoted phase, If detected during the single pole dead ime and before the circuit breaker reclosure, will result ina three phase trip and scheme lockout, For single and three phase auto-reclose programmes, the development of a fault on to a proviously unaffected phese, if detected during the discrimination time and before the circuit breaker reclosure, 2 three phase trip and Conversion of reclosing from singl phase to three phase. If the developing fault occurs after the discriminating time. has elapsed the relay will trip in all three phases and lock out. ‘Scheme reset SINGLE BREAKER SCHEMES (LFAA101) Tho scheme will automatically reset if the reclaim time expires and the circuit breaker is closed, ‘TWO BREAKER SCHEMES (LFAA102) ‘The auto-rectose of the breakers will automatically reset at the end of the raciaim time if bath breakers are closed Ifthe auto-reclose of only one circuit breaker is in prograss at the end of the reclaim time, the scheme will reset if this particular circuit breaker isin the closed Position but lockout if itis in the open Position ‘Scheme lockout : SINGLE BREAKER SCHEMES (LFAA 01) ‘Scheme lockout wil block scheme ation and operation, preventing autematic reclosure. It occure forany of the following conditions + tho cireuit breaker isin the opeh position atthe end ofthe reclaim time + the protection operetes during the reclaim time following the final shot + atthe end of tie three phasb dead time the correct voltage mpritor or check synchronism conditions are not Satisfied within the pre-cosing time + ifthe closing pulse srs without interruption and the circuit breaker is in the open position + auto-rociose blocking is inated. + for certain conditions after an interruption of de supply + ifthe protection relay has not roast or the circuit broakor has not tripped within the trio fei time, ‘Two breaker schemes (LFAA102} Circuit breaker lockout wil block scheme ion and operation ofthe relevant breaker, preventing automatic reslosure; it occurs for any of the following conditions: + ifthe auto-rociose of both breakers is ‘successfully initiated, tho overall scheme wll lock out atthe end of the fectaim time if ether one oF both breakers are in the open position «ithe auto-rectose of only one circuit breaker i in prograss atthe and ofthe reclaim time, the scheme wall rset if ‘his partcular ctcut breaker ign the closed position but lock out if itis in the open position + ifthereley programme or during the {allowing the final shot: programme, the relay wi three phase tripping and lock out ‘+ both breakers will be locked out if correct voltage monitor/synchronism ‘check conditions have not occurred within the pre-closing check time, If the leader circuit broaker has ‘successfully reclosed and the correct conditions have net occurred within the pre-closing check time after the expiry of the follower circuit bresker time, the follower circuit breaker will be locked out + the auto-reclose of the relevant circuit breaker will be locked out f that particular circult breaker is in the open position when the closing pulse expires without interruption. If the auto-raclose of the leader circ breaker locks out in this way, the follower circuit breaker will Inherit the pro-closing chack conditions originally selected for the leader circuit breaker. Aftar the follower circuit breakor delay ‘ime, if the pro-closing check conditions are satisfied, the followar circuit breaker reclose pulse will be initiated. For subsequent scheme initiation with the leader circuit breaker in the lockout state, the follower circuit breaker will adopt the auto-reclose programme originally Selected for the leader eireult breaker + both breakers willbe locked out i auto-reclose blocking is initiated + both breakers will be locked out ifthe protection relay has not reset or the Circuit breakers have not tripped within the cet “Trip Fail time after ‘scheme initiation. The lock out condition is one of the conditions indicated by the ALARMS 1 indication on the front of the relay. Block auto-reclose This is an input which initiates blocking, causing throe phase tripping and lock out. Manual closing of the circuit breaker the circuit bresker is closed manually on to. faul, the auto-reciose must be inhibited, A contact on the remote control ‘switch which closes the breaker should bo ‘sed to (a) inhibit auto-reclose,(b) startthe ‘manual close timer. The inhibit is retained for the duration af the manuel close time, Switching autorectose relay infout of The LFA relay can be switched in or out of service from a remote point.
