Collagen drink is a supplement product from animal collagen that can be
drunk in the beauty field by having many benefits. Among them are maintaining skin elasticity, skin tightening, reducing wrinkles, moisturizing the skin, antioxidants, and stimulating collagen production. Generally, the collagen drink claims to stimulate the collagen making mechanism in the body, which in turn will promote the body tissues and reduce the skin wrinkles and sagging ( Hashim et al. 2015). This collagen drink product is shaped like syrup whose main ingredient is collagen with other additions such as glutathione, vitamin C, vitamin E, flavorings or fruit extracts. Fruit extracts are added value to the product so that the product has a variety of flavors such as oranges, strawberries, and others. In addition, vitamin C was added in the drink as an antioxidant and a vital coenzyme in the biosynthesis of collagen. As a result, “Collagen” drink was created to stimulate the growth of beneficial gut bacteria and to radiate beauty from beyond skin deep ( Hashim et al. 2015). This collagen drink can be packaged in bottles that are ready to drink or sachets containing powder dissolved in water to be ready for drinking. This product can be taken routinely every day because this collagen drink is a supplement for the body because the human body is needed collagen to maintain skin elasticity, although collagen is available in the human body but its quality and quantity will continue to decrease with age. This collagen drink is practical because it can be consumed immediately whenever the human need it. However, collagen supplements in the form of drinks are not environmentally friendly enough because they are generally packaged in plastic or glass bottles.
