RESEARCH FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION


A. FINDINGS
1. Data Description
a. Writing Ability
In assessing students’ writing ability, there are five aspects should be scored;
grammar, vocabulary, mechanics, fluency and form. Each indicator has the interval
score from 1 (the lowest score) until 5 (the highest score). The students’ writing score
is converted into interval 1-100. The students’ riting score both for experimental and
control class can be seen on appendix 18 and 21. Table 12 below shows the students’
writing score summary from the experimental and control class:

From the table above, it can be concluded that the total score of students in
experiemntal class is bla bla which is higher than total score from contro class bla
bla. The mean score of experimental class is bla bla, which is higher than the mean
score of control class is bla bla. Then, maximum score of experimental class is bla
bla and minimum score is bla bla, whereas the maximum score of control class is bla
bla and minimum score is bla bla. It is pointed that students in experimental class
have higher score of writing ability of news item text than the students in control

In addition, students’ writing score in experimental and control class are divided
into high writing apprehension and low writing apprehension. The data of students’
writing ability with high and low writing apprehension can be seen below:

In the table, it can be stated that the total writing ability score of experimental
class is bla and the mean score is bla. The maximum score is blaand minimun score
is bla. From detail explanation see appendix bla. Then, the result of students’ writing
ability with low writing apprehension in experimental class can be seen in the table
14 below.

Related to the table above, it is clear that the total score of students’ writing
ability with low writing apprehension in experimental class is la and the mean score
is bla. The maximum and minimum score are bla and bla.
In addition, the students’ writing ability with high and low writing apprehension
in control class is presented in the following table:
