1. The three sources that I decided to write about are the three that I have used most commonly
during my time at CSN.
The first resource that I am choosing to write about is the availability and access to the Microsoft 365
suite of programs. This gives you free access to Microsoft word for free, as well as a host of other useful
programs that I have used together throughout my college career. These includes a school email address
through outlook—which, as a student, grants you access to discounts on other programs such as Zbrush (a
3d designing program). It also includes One Drive, a cloud hosting application where I keep a back up of
all my homework. And there are many other extremely useful programs available to you for free.
The second resource that is available to students through the Education department website is the access
to the library resources. This is possibly the most important resource that is accessible through the
website. I have personally used this resource every semester that I have gone to college. It allows you to
have access to newspapers, magazine articles, research journals and many other amazing sources. You
can customize when you want you source to be from, if it is peer reviewed or not, what keywords or
catchphrases are included in the source, anything. With out having access to this source I would not have
been able to get this far in my college career.
The final resource that we—as students—have access to through the CSN resource website is the access
to Weebly. This is the newest feature that I have learned about, but I am extremely excited to be learning
about it. I have tried to build website through other hosts previously and either gave up because it was too
simple and boring, or it was so complicated that I couldn’t figure it out. But now with Weebly I have been
engaged and interested in making my online portfolio for my EDU courses. I am excited to unvail it
during this semester and have all my previous works available to prospective schools as I am searching
for jobs.

2. The three guidelines that the education department at CSN require for their field observation are
clear and precise.
The first step is to decide which region you would like to do your field observations. The second step is to
find a school that resides in that specific section and locate the three digit code associated with that
school. The third and final step is to submit your CCSD field observation request to the education
department. You will then wait until the education department contacts the school and the school will
reach out to you and assign you a teacher and time to do your observations.

3. The three sources I am mentioning from the library resource database are all ones in which I have
previously used and have some familiarity with.
The first resource that I have used most frequently is the EBSCOhost database, it is easy to find books
and journals that are peer review and credible. The interface is extremely easy to navigate and allows you
to fine tune your search with numerous different search options.
The second resource I have used frequently is INFObase—films on demand. It has scientific videos on
any subject you would ever need. It is a great resource to get accurate information in an interesting way.
The third resource from the library database is the National Geographic Magazine Archive. This archive
dates to 1888, and you can access the images, individual articles, or full issues. This is not only a useful
resource but a beautifully cultivated host of everything this prestigious magazine has to offer.

4. Nevada Computer and Technology Standards Standards describe what students need to know and
be able to do at each grade level. In Nevada, these standards are considered the floor, not the
ceiling, for student learning and performance. This document serves as a framework to guide
districts in creating their curriculum based on the state standards. It is essential that the standards
are not taught in isolation; rather, multiple standards are taught within a single lesson ensuring
teachers, students, and parents make the connections between reading and writing to enhance
performance.

5. I chose to do one of the courses that I have already completed. EDU 202 Intro Secondary
Education. And the artifacts that are required are: Field Observations, Education Philosophy,
Lesson Plan.

CCSD website

1. The first resource on the CCSD website is Infinite Campus. This is a brilliant piece of
technology.
I learned about it when I did my teacher observation. It is where the teachers can do things like
attendance, add grades, and add notes to assignments. This program also allows the students and
parents of the students to have instant access to their grades and know what assignments are due,
when they are due, and what their grade is.
The second resource on the CCSD website is called newsroom. This is a website dedicated to the
cultivation of all the news that anyone associated with the school system would want to know.
The final resource on the CCSD website I am choosing to highlight is called Safe Voice. This
resource is an anonymous tip app that is multi-faceted. It is designed for students, parents, and
community members to be able to anonymously report threats of violence, suicide risks, self-harm,
drugs, and many other factors that currently affect todays schools.

2. Starting salary for a first year teacher (if I am reading this right) the base salary is 40,900. There
are steps A-J in each pay column and each step the pay increases.
3. There are many employee resources for teachers on the CCSD website. The first I noticed was the
curriculum and professional development (CPD). This is a website dedicated to assisting teachers
and parents alike with curriculum and content of each age group.
There is also a New Teachers resource that assists teachers to be acclimated to the clark county
school district. They have help with human resource services and support staff. It is focused on
assisting teachers who are being contracted for their first year at CCSD.
The third resource that stood out to me was the Curriculum Engine. This was something I had
heard about from my time as a student observer. It is a website dedicated to providing ideas for
curriculum and planning the way subjects will progress throughout the year.

4. There are a few resources that students have access through the CCSD website as well. They can
view information on the required exams that students need to pass. The proficiency exams are the
only one that showed up, they have examples of the test and information about each section of the
exams.
There is also information about school reunions for former students of CCSD. There are links to
when and where the reunions will be held and what is required to attend each one.
You can also request a transcript if you have already graduated and are needing a transcript for
any reason. There are links for students wanting transcripts, corporations or universities, or
attorneys to find out information about gaining access to past student transcripts.
5. One of the resources for parents of students on the CCSD website is the enrollment section. You
can find which schools you have access to based on different criteria, such as location, open
enrollment, which schools are available to you, and information about magnet schools.
