Testing the Safety Circuit: Iis possible to simulate the anchor not dropping through a hole in the caps of relays KS/K6/K7. Ifa relay is fixed this way during the start, the elevator car is set to operating mode “fault in the safety circuit” at the next stop (the left-hand 7 segment indicator displays “H”). Operation of the elevator is then suspended. F note: Hydraulic elevators first lower the car to the bottom floor, ‘Testing the Repatriation Device in Hydraulic Elevators: To test the repatriation device, a lower value is entered for the hydraulic lowering time, so that the elevator can be lowered in a shorter time than the usual 10 minutes. Prerequisite for this: ‘The change in the hydraulic lowering time has been effected before the elevator reaches the floor from which it is to be lowered!. Safety considerations General Functional description Description of Errors with signal KS checkback Description of those parts of the LiSA. elevator control unit which are relevant safety, during travel with open doors. For travel with open doors, the following parts are required in addition to signal generator BI (Sm): B2 bottom signal generator (Su) B3 top signal generator (So) KS = safety relay control (forced) K6 = centre safety relay (forced) K7 extemal safety relay (forced) Rv,Cv = _resistor/capacitor combination for pickup delay of K7 ‘A metal inductor plate with a length of 20 to 50 cm is mounted within the flush area of each floor. The size of the zone in which relevelling is possible with open doors, is +~ 10 em resp. +- 25 cm to flush floor level Signal generators B1 — B3 are mounted on top of one another, with the extemal signal generators B2 and B3 each having a distance of approx. half the length of the inductor plate from the central signal generator BL K6 is triggered by BI. K7 is triggered by either B2 or B3 or by both simultaneously. After applying the supply voltage, KS_ picks up first. This is only possible if both K6 and K7 have dropped. This means that all 3 switching links are open in the bridging branch (between terminal OT and K5:21 on the central electronics unit). Approaching the zone: As soon as one of the extemal signal generators (B3 for upward or B2 for downward travel) enters the zone, K7 is triggered. Because KG is dropped, K7 picks up. As soon as B1 enters the zone, KG is triggered and picks up as well. After that, KS drops and the bridging of the door contacts is closed. A prerequisite for this is that switch S14 (inspection) is not activated. Further requirements for traction elevators are: Travel speed <0.3 m/sec (contact BU) and switch $4 (return) is not activated. After B1 has left the zone, K6 drops. K7 remains picked up until both B2 and B3 have left the zone. After that, K7 can pick up again The signal given by the contact of the KS checkback relay is evaluated continuously by the processor. If one of the errors Safety considerations Description of Errors without signal KS checkback Rope traction elevators described below occurs, the elevator is stopped by the processor either at once or at the end of the current run, with the exception of hydraulic elevators ~ these are lowered to the bottom floor first. Errors: © The elevator car is within the zone (at least one of the signal generators B1, B2 or B3 is within the zone), but KS does not drop. © KS has not picked up during the entire run. This K6 or K7 not being dropped, or by a faulty KS. status can be caused by either © A faulty input to the electronics unit of the KS checkback signal can lead to the same result. The reaction to this is the same as for an error in the safety circuit, Even if an error in the software is not recognized (like the signal KS checkback being treated wrongly), no dangerous operating modus ean occur. When an error occurs, the bridging branch (JZ) remains open. Should additional errors occur, UZ will still remain open. KS does not drop any more: Uz.remains open, KS does not pick up any more: UZ remains open because KG cannot pick up. K6 does not drop any more: ‘OZ remains open because K7 cannot pick up. K7 does not drop any more: ‘UZ remains open because KS and, therefore, KG cannot pick up any more Earth contacts at outputs of signal generators: ‘UZ, remains open - simultaneous activation of K6 and K7 through earth contact is prevented due to the fact that K7 cannot pick up because Rv and Cv slow down pickup. Short cireuit at outputs of signal generators. See “earth contacts"! ‘New errors are not noticed, apart from the fact that normal operation is not possible any mor. this means that each error at least has the effect thatthe elevator ear always stops witha step of almost half the length of the inductor plate ‘As signal generator BI always connects through, this inevitably means that the car travels into the limit switch, If2 errors occur (e.g, BI and B2 always stay connected through resp.K6 and K7 do not drop any more), even a subsequent cutout followed by a retum of the supply voltage does not result in any dangerous operating status. On return of the supply voltage, all contactors are dropped. KS picks up at once, and KG6 follows suit. The result is that K7 which is slow in starting, cannot pick up. Safety considerations Hydraulic elevators ‘The sbovesmentioned remarks concerning rope traction elevators apply. With hydraulic elevators, however, the cut-off procedure is started by one of the external signal generators BL or BS. They generally run with open doors, When the centre signal generator BI plunges with ‘the doors open, and an error occurs, this leads to the safety circuit being open and subsequently to the travel control time being exceeded. The elevator is then stopped. Appendix to TUV Guide Evaluation of Approaching Speed In the functional description of the safety considerations, a monitoring of the travel speed is required for rope traction elevators. For this purpose, the control evaluates the signal V<0.3mv/sec (Kontakt EU). This evaluation can altematively be carried out via the pulse inputs of the control unit. In this case, there is no report v<0.3mvsee (Kontakt EU) to the control unit. Please see also the functional description of the safety considerations and the basic circuit diagram dated 27" May 1999 in the operating manual, part C. Checking the Approaching Speed Checking the approaching speed can be achieved in two different ways: 1) Set the value “Max.Geschwind. bei Tueroeffinung (mm/Sek) =" (max. speed on door opening mm/sec.) in the parameter set 000 (general installation parameters) to a value smaller than the actual approaching speed (e.g. 100 mm/sec.). This is followed by a run during which no opening signal must be given when the centre signal generator is plunged. Doors are opened only after standstill of the elevator. 2) If permitted by the elevator, the approaching speed can be set to a value greater than the one defined in the 000 parameter set (general installation parameters). Again, this is followed by an elevator run during which the doors must not open when the centre signal generator is plunged. Only after standstill of the elevator must the doors open. Please note that an increase in the approaching speed may lead to steps forming resp. an emergency stop in the zone area. Maitenbeth, 18" September 2002 jet Jaksch, Technical Appendix to TUV Guide Reaction of the control unit to following occurrences: Running on Emergency Limit Switch circuit has been interrupted. The segment status display shows “S” Reaction: Rope Traction Elevator ‘A run that has commenced is finished and a new start prevented. ARter cooling down, the elevator resumes operation. Hydraulic Elevator ‘A nun that has commenced is finished. The elevator is then lowered to the bottom position and remains there with its doors open. Relevelling is not affected. The segment status display shows "O”. The procedure to be followed depends on the type of levator. Reaction: Rope traction elevator: After the error has been triggered, the elevator goes into “out of operation” mode and stops. Operation can only be resumed after a manual reset.
