Foreign #1 : GLARICIDIA SEPIUM (MADRE DE CACAO) A MULTI-PURPOSE TREE
According to Aparna, Jakhar, M. L., & Choudhary, K. (2017) Gliricidia Sepium (Madre de Cacao) is a medium size, semi-deciduous multipurpose forage tree of the Fabaceae family. It is the forage tree that has been introduced in India. Central America and potentially South America are thought to be the native land of this forage tree. In regions with adequate humidity, the tree is always green in the drying season ; however, it is mostly deciduous in the dry season. The temperature requirements of these sites are not too exact, as shown by the wide change in the mean monthly temperature at native sites. The use of Gliricidia Sepium in humid tropics was also extensive. The toxic effects of their seed and bark create a generic epithet These landscape populations remain in an introduction to planting crops, although they have recently been integrated into pole, firewood, hedges, drillings, green manure and soils stabilization practices.
