To Whom it May Concern:

My name is Sylvia Wieseler. I just recently graduated from South Dakota State University with a

Bachelor of Science in early childhood education as well as a certification in elementary education from

Dakota State University.

I grew up in the small town of Miller, SD. I was highly involved in high school. I participated in

oral interpretation, one act play, spring play, football cheer, competition cheer, and dance. I also enjoyed

being a member of Family Career and Consumer Leaders of America and Students Against Destructive

Decisions.

At South Dakota State University, I held membership in four different honor societies including

Kappa Delta Pi, Phi Upsilon Omicron, Mortar Board, and Phi Kappa Phi. I was the fundraising chair and

publicity chair for Phi Upsilon Omicron. I also served as the Alumni Chair for Mortar Board. At South

Dakota State University, I was also involved in the Student National Education Association also known

as South Dakota Education Association Aspiring Educators. I held the position of president with this

organization.

The organizations and honor societies that I was involved in at SDSU participated in many

service projects. I took a service-learning trip during spring break 2019 to Belize with a group from

SDSU. We served in the small community of Succotz where I taught a few lessons at the Alvin L. Young

School. Since, I have taken another trip to Belize to donate items, provide updates to a church, and

connect with some of the people there.

I have strong cooperative skills. I work well as a team and have put these skills to use in the many

different organizations I am involved in. I also have strong communicating skills that will help me in my

teaching profession to successfully communicate with colleagues and parents. I believe my strong

computer and technology skills and creative mindset will be assets in the profession of teaching.
