PetroBowl is a championship that started around 2002, also was organized by

the SPE Gulf Coast Section where all SPE Chapters compete against each
other, answering technical and non-technical industry rel
ated questions after going through their regional qualifier. This championship
takes place each year at SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition
(ATCE). Regional qualifier competitions now take place in six different regions, such as,
Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, South America and Caribbean, Middle East, and North America
SPE regions, and the top 32 teams are invited to the SPE Annual Technical Conference and
Exhibition.

2019 in Calgary, Canada.
